Hello sweeties,

I am crazy for foundations because if you pick the right one then it has the power to do magic on your skin and transform it. I have loved L’Oreal foundations, so I was expecting a lot from this one. Scroll on to see how this worked for me.

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris True Match Genius 4-In-1 #G2 Gold Porcelain:

Packaging: The packaging is very unique and probably something that I haven’t seen in such compact foundations. It looks exactly like a phone case with a window to peep in. My grandmother though it is my phone lying there. It has a glossy silver packaging with “Genius” written all over it. The lid opens vertically, revealing the compact and the sponge. The window makes it easy to see the shade. There are like 7 shades and I picked up the one called G2. The compact is super handy with a sponge and a mirror. So the packaging is super cute and flawless.

Texture and feel on the skin: The texture is very creamy yet thick. The texture has to be thick for it to give a good coverage. It is like a blend of the mousse and cream foundation. It goes on smooth on my skin giving a creaseless perfect finish. But in the current weather, the creamy texture feels a bit heavy and thick on my skin; however, it would work fine during winters. If there is just one layer of this foundation then it looks fine, but if you swipe it twice to get the coverage then it looks a bit “white” and artificial. It might also look oily or greasy after an hour.

Results: The claims of this cream foundation were really tall! It primes my skin for sure because I my pores are less visible and imperfections, blurred out. But one more quality of a primer is that it makes the make-up stay pretty long, but this fails in this aspect. It acts as a foundation nicely since it brightens up my skin, transforms the look making my skin look fresher and healthier, but I have used better foundations than this. Oh, this cannot replace your concealer at any cost! It doesn’t conceal the acne marks that well; all it conceals is a little redness near my nose area. But the foundation clings to pores and dry patches making them very noticeable. And like a powder, it does give a mousse finish which doesn’t look like powder. The powder finish is always matte which takes away all the oiliness but with this, oil gushes back on my face after an hour. So it did not work that great for me.

Staying power: The staying power is somewhere around 3-4 hours before it starts revealing my flaws. After an hour it started to get oily and I already have oily skin so it did not look that great. Also, it does oxidise after a few hours which is not expected from a foundation of such a good brand. So overall, a very unworthy one for that price!
