Today I am reviewing a brand new lip product from L’Oreal’s Infallible range. Now, every one of us loves long lasting lip colors and we have seen tons of such similar products from many brands. Let’s see what sets this apart, shall we?
This is the long-lasting, transfer-resistant color you’ve been searching for. The high-intensity color glides on with a moisturizing feel that lasts up to 24 hours.
The result: bold lips without the dry-out and no need to re-apply.
The pro look of longwear.
High-intensity, transfer-resistant color.
Stays put for up to 24 hours.
Step 1: Apply High Intensity Color for true color pay-off that resists transfer, fading & bleeding.
Step 2: Apply Pro-Seal Balm to lock in color and leave lips feeling moisturized.
How to Use:
1. Apply Pro-Last lipcolour to clean lips. For best results, allow to dry for 2 minutes.
2. Apply color seal balm to lock-in color and leave lips feeling moisturized.
My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Violet Parfait Infallible Pro-Last Lipcolor:
These come in sleek long black tubes, with transparent caps at one end that contain the lip product. The tube unscrews at one end to reveal a doe foot applicator that dips into the “colour” side of the product. The other side opens up to the clear balm side. It has silver font on one side and the shade name is written at the bottom. Overall, standard packaging for dual ended products. The packaging feels quite nice and there’s nothing cheap or flimsy about it.
The shade I am reviewing is called Violet Parfait. It is a cool toned plum and would look gorgeous on all skin tones. The shade is a lovely berry tone, and the product itself is highly pigmented. There are tiny silver micro shimmer particles, but you cannot make them out on the lips.
The colour side is a matte cream that is very hard to apply. The first couple of times I did mess this up. You should take care not to rub your lips after application, else the colour becomes patchy and dry and flakes off easily. However, if you just keep it as is, it first starts of as a glossy texture and settles into a matte with a slightly tacky feel. After that, one would apply the balm that will seal in the colour. The balm is a lovely, light moisturizing one. The balm has a very pleasant fragrance to it that would not be bothersome at all. The cream has a slightly stronger candy-like fragrance to it, but I do not really notice either until I actually put my nose on the product.
When I first purchased this, I totally just wanted to use the matte shade. I never thought I’d like the balm. But after getting this, I can’t wear the product without the balm because as it gets very uncomfortable that way. You MUST wear the balm on top and that makes the product slightly glossy. It’s neither a pro nor a con, just an additional piece of info. What impressed me most about this is the staying power. I know they say 24 hour wear, but that is not true! It will last an entire work-day/party on me with a little fading. You can touch it up with the balm or more of the lip colour.
Let me give you an example of the staying power:
After applying it, I applied the lip balm after 5 mins. Then, I did not touch it for a good 15 minutes. After that, I wanted to see how much it transfers and rubbed my lips hard with it. Result? It would not budge. To remove it, you must use a decent makeup remover and put in a bit of effort. But, it feels good that I invested in this great product. 🙂
I feel like with this, if you get the initial application right, you can pretty much use this all through the day with no problems at all. So, take some time out to practice applying this
properly and you would have found an amazing lip product for life. I am definitely getting some everyday shades from this range soon.
