L’Oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Cellular Shampoo Review

L’Oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Cellular Shampoo Review

I have been using this lately more or less and might have cheated in between with with my Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo, which I love and have gotten a few from England, but you can say this is the shampoo I have been using for the past two months.

L’Oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Cellular Shampoo Review

I got this one from a salon near my parent’s place.  I had gone for a hair cut and he highly recommended this considering the havoc Chennai water had done to my hair.  He went on and on about how good this can be for my very bad hair, which is true because Chennai has brackish water which leads to rough hair and massive hair fall. I have not switched to purified water off late and still waiting for the results to undo the past havoc.

This shampoo was recommended to me along with the mask, but I did not opt for the mask as I have two masks already, one from L’Oreal and another from Schwarzkopf to finish that my sister got me from Oz.  Hence, I have been using this shampoo alone, but sometimes with Matrix conditioner.

I am afraid I don’t have anything positive to say about this one when used with the kind of water we have here. I have dry hair with natural waves and curls which behave best when shampooed. The day I use this shampoo, my hair feels softer and my curls are curlier and shinier and this effect lasts me for a day only.

The shampoo has a mild floral fragrance and lathers well with very less quantity as well. When I first used it, I was expecting a miracle to happen, but that did not happen.  I did not give up.  I almost used half of it and still the effect was the same, which lasted me for a day, but nothing long term and no improvement in quality.

Now, I am almost about to finish the bottle and still, the texture of my hair in Chennai water is still the same. When I wash it with this shampoo, the feel-good factor lasts me for a day and then the humidity kills it.

There are some factors I would like to point out here for you to decide better:

  • I have rough, dry, and wavy to curly hair.
  • The water here is brackish.
  • The climate is humid.
  • I haven’t purchased the conditioner along with this.
  • I sometimes used the Matrix conditioner with this shampoo.

Absolut Hair

Hence, I would say that this would perform slightly better in dry climate with better hair, but then, why would you buy it because it is meant for damaged hair. This is not a miracle product and for Rs. 475 and the huge claims, I was expecting better.

Last Word:

Not recommended. Doesn’t have long-term effects and the claims are false, but I do think it may work better in better water and better climatic conditions, but still the claims are more than this shampoo can achieve unfortunately.

  1. oh there is cellular repair in this range too? sad this want great..
i have used absolute repair with neofibrine. and i loved it soo much..!! iv used that one for like 6 years non stop!

  2. wow… Yhis review actually came at the right time…. I was about to purchase it from an online website…thanks for the review Neha…. saved my $$$

  3. hey i suggest you use a normal basic shampoo the one you have been using since forever and follow up with a nice hair masque or conditioner. also i have curly hair , live in bombay and frizz up and get dry strands super soon. i swear by coconut oil massages, basic shampoo such as sunsilk or garnier to wash the oil off, and the loreal absolut repair conditioning masque as conditioner. i find it is more value for money than the plain old conditioner..

also try using aloe vera gel on your hair when your hair is still damp… it just defines my curls without it looking like i have anything on my hair.

  4. worse for thin and oily hair.. once i used this shampoo before haircut and the parlour lady asked if i have really washed my hair as it dosent cleans ur hair at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    WASTAGE OF MONEY… huh:(
