L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Nutrifier Shampoo Review

Scalp type: Moderately oily scalp with dandruff
Hair type: Dry and thin hair

Hey everyone,

After watching Sam’s video on hair care on the Rati Beauty app, I decided to switch to professional shampoos for my hair. I picked up the ‘Nutrifier Shampoo’ from the L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert range. It is meant for dry and under-nourished hair. Now, my scalp type is very different from my hair type, so I purchased this shampoo for my hair. Read on to know how this shampoo fared out for my hair.

L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Nutrifier Shampoo Review

Price: $30 for 300 mL
Product Description:
• Constructed with glycerol and coconut oil, the Serie Expert Nutrifier shampoo offers just the right dose of nourishment to dry hair. Glycerol helps to hydrate and nourish, while coconut oil brings shine to the hair.
• This silicone-free shampoo cleanses and leaves the hair softer, more supple and shinier.
• Apply evenly to wet hair. Lather. Rinse. In case of contact with eyes, rinse them immediately.
• The signs of dry hair include a raised hair cuticle, hair that lacks shine, feels rough and tangles easily. Hair can be dry for different reasons, from genetics to natural aggressions such as humidity, sun, and pollution. If left untreated, hair becomes more fragile and prone to breakage.

L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Nutrifier Shampoo Ingredients

My Experience with L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Nutrifier Shampoo:

Packaging and Consistency:
The product comes in a transparent amber-coloured bottle. It is available in 2 sizes: 300 mL and 500 mL. The transparent bottle makes it easy to visualize how much product is left. There is a flip cap mechanism to dispense the product. I prefer the pump packaging which is available for the 500 mL bottle. Overall, the packaging looks really beautiful and is functional for shower use. There are no travel sizes available in this range as it is meant for salon use.

This formulation contains glycerol and coconut oil along with some SLS. Personally, SLS is not a problem for me but it can be problematic for people with coloured hair. The formula is silicone-free, so whatever you see after using this product, is your real hair health and hair texture from using the product.

The product has a nice flowery fragrance. It is not overpowering, but good and soothing. The fragrance has some citrus undertones to it. It is quite pleasant. It lingers for 2 days on the hair after the wash. The consistency of the product is neither runny nor solid. It is almost like glycerine. You need little amounts to lather it up, due to the SLS. I have mid-back length hair and for me, one squeeze of the product is enough to wash it.

Performance of the Shampoo:
A little bit of background story about my hair before I talk about how this shampoo performed. In the past, I have focused mainly on the needs of my oily scalp, meaning I have used shampoos which dry out your scalp. Because of which, my hair is also dry. Then I started using moisturizing shampoos and conditioners but stopped because the consumer-range products made my hair flat, oily and weighed-down. So, I finally decided to treat my scalp and hair as separate entities. I have never coloured my hair or got any kind of treatments or intensive styling.

For my scalp, I use the L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Instant Clear Shampoo, it is an excellent scalp shampoo, just the right fit for my scalp. I use this Nutrifier shampoo on my dry hair. With just one wash, I noticed a lot of difference. My hair is hydrated, nourished, soft, smooth and shiny now.

It is not the silky kind of feel or look that you get with silicone shampoos, but it definitely makes my hair healthier. My frizz is under control and I have never been so happy with my hair. I keep touching it and smelling it. The best part is, I expected a lot of hair-fall with this product because I was changing shampoos but, in fact, I got a lower than normal hair-fall when I used this shampoo. It nourishes and hydrates my hair without weighing it down or making my hair flat. I couldn’t ask for more.
