L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Vitamino Color A-OX Conditioner Review

Hair type: dry, wavy and thin hair
I recently became obsessed with haircare as much as skincare, thanks to Sam’s haircare routine video. As you know from my L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Liss Double Serum review, I recently coloured my hair and I really wanted to take good care of it. So, I picked up this conditioner from the L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert range which is specifically targeted for coloured hair and its maintenance. So, let’s see how this conditioner fared out for my coloured hair.

L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Vitamino Color A-OX Conditioner Review

Price: $30 for 200 mL
Product Description:
The rich texture of the Vitamino Color A-OX Conditioner leaves coloured hair easier to detangle and feeling smoother. Used after the Vitamino Shampoo, your colour-treated hair feels soft and the hair colour radiance protected while the look of shine and colour radiance are beautifully boosted.

L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Vitamino Color A-OX Conditioner Ingredients

My Experience with L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Vitamino Color A-OX Conditioner:

The product comes in a beautiful rose gold bottle. The bottle is opaque so you can’t visualise the amount of product left. The ingredients are listed at the back of the bottle. There are two variations in the size of the bottle: 200 mL and 500 mL. The 500 mL bottle has a pump dispenser while the one that I got (200 mL) has a flip cap dispensing mechanism. The flip cap mechanism works decently to dispense the product, but some product gets stuck on the cap, which is a little bummer. Other than that, the packaging is sleek, beautiful and travel-friendly.

The ingredient list was difficult to photograph due to the cylindrical shape of the bottle but the main ingredients are tocopherol and panthenol for hair protection and neohespiridin for anti-oxidant activity. Apart from these ingredients, there’s an aminated silicone, amodimethicone, in the conditioner. I prefer to get in depth of why each ingredient is there in a product because for me haircare, makeup and skincare are science.

Amodimethicones are not water soluble but they do not build up like normal silicones. This makes it a blessing for wavy and curly hair. It helps in detangling the hair and keeping the shine. So, this ingredient is nothing to fear about unless you’re allergic. Coming back to the product, it has a nice sweet strawberry scent. It isn’t overpowering and it doesn’t linger in your hair.

The consistency of the product is a bit more on the runny side than normal conditioners, which is why it is advisable to just absorb the excess water with a towel after shampooing and before applying this product. I do this and then it spreads easily and fewer amounts are required to cover my mid-back length hair. I leave it on for a couple of minutes and then rinse it off. Upon rinsing, I feel that my coloured hair is really hydrated without being over-moisturized.

I prefer hydration rather than having limp and weighed down hair and this product gives me that. However, if you are looking for a really heavy moisturising conditioner, then this product is not for you. It also makes detangling easier and imparts a nice sheen to coloured hair. I am on week 4 of coloured hair, and so far, this conditioner has been doing a good job at keeping the radiance of the hair, as it says. Whether it will increase the longevity of your colour is difficult to say but it definitely doesn’t fade the colour and keeps it healthy.

Overall, I am happy with the detangled and shiny hair this conditioner provides. It also makes the colour radiant and beautiful. However, some people might find it a bit drying for a conditioner but I prefer the hydration rather than intense moisturization.

Pros of L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Vitamino Color A-OX Conditioner:

• Beautiful rose-gold packaging
• Pleasant strawberry fragrance
• Makes detangling hair easier
• Hydrates hair after shampoo without weighing it down
• Imparts a nice sheen to hair
• Makes colour hair look more radiant

Cons of L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Vitamino Color A-OX Conditioner:

• Can be a little bit drying for some people
• Product sometimes gets stuck on the flip cap
