L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Hairmix Sublime Shine Review

I have been using Mythic oil for quite a long time now. It’s one product that makes my curls very predictable. But as with most products I wanted a change and decided to try this one out.

Claims:
Nourish and tame your very dry, frizzy hair with L’Oréal Professionnel tecni.art Hairmix Sublime Shine. It leaves your hair amazingly shiny and more manageable. This shine serum contains natural oils and avocado derivatives, which smooth your hair fibre and eliminate frizz for a beautiful, shiny finish. L’Oréal Professionnel tecni.art Hairmix Sublime Shine gives very light hold and has a soft vanilla fragrance.

My Experience with L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Hairmix Sublime Shine:

I cannot help but compare this with L’Oreal’s Mythic oil. For starters, the bottle shape and size are exactly the same. Sublime Shine is an opaque golden brown bottle and so we cannot know the amount of product left as with Mythic oil. The pump of Sublime Shine is much sturdier than Mythic oil.

The texture is exactly the same as Mythic oil. It’s transparent, oily, and not watery; pretty much like any good quality serum. It is a semi-runny, soft and silky velvety serum.

The comparison doesn’t end here. The smell is also exactly the same! L’Oreal says the fragrance is of vanilla but I smell a cosmetic floral smell. It’s a little too strong for my liking but it goes off about 30 mins after application.
I cannot use oils like olive, argan or avocado directly on my hair as it makes my hair look super oily and frizzy. Serums having natural oils are the best alternative to that.

I use it in 2 ways:-
As a leave in conditioner: I apply about 6-8 pumps on my towel dried hair and scrunch it to define the curls.
As a heat-protectant : I usually don’t like to apply any product on dry hair as that causes my hair to poof up but I apply a small amount onto my side bangs as a heat-protectant before straightening them.

Other ways to use it:-
Easy Blow Dry: Apply a few pumps on damp hair to make blow drying easier.
Shine serum: After styling your hair, apply 1 pump on the ends of dry hair for added shine & frizz protection (this is what it is primarily meant for :D)

Though it is not an absolute loser, it does not make my hair frizz free and silky soft to the extent that Mythic oil does. This is like the little sister of Mythic oil trying to reach up to her, but still not there yet. But for almost 300 rupees less, I guess that’s what I asked for.

Pros of L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Hairmix Sublime Shine:

• Controls frizz to a small extent.
• Imparts shine and gloss.

Cons of L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Hairmix Sublime Shine:

• Doesn’t hydrate hair as much I want it to.
• Doesn’t define curls impeccably.
• Smell is a teeny bit irritating to me.

IMBB Rating: 3/5

  1. I tend to pick up so many of these kinda products but never finish them 🙁
I am sitting on asutralis leav in and gaurdian angel from Schwarzkopf now – huge bottles~

  2. I am searching for a hair serum which acts as a heat protectant, controls frizz and makes my hair look healthy. This serum might not be the one but the Mythic oil might be the one.. 😀

  3. I like this Tecni Art range, I use the smoothing cream before I blow dry. It protects from heat and makes hair soft, smooth and make the blowout stay in place. I wanted to love this one too… but I guess it’ll make my hair dry.
