So I saw this print ad few days back. It was about this latest skincare launch called Skin Perfect by L’Oreal Paris India. This particular range caters to 3 different age groups: 20s, 30s and 40s. We’ll be seeing Katrina Kaif endorsing this range soon. More than anything else, I was amazed to see Lisa Ray, who doesn’t look like 42 at all! She’ll be a part of the campaign for the 40+ range I believe.

My take on L’Oreal Skin Perfect Anti-Aging Plus Whitening Facial Foam for 30+:

For the past 1 year, I’ve been only using ayurvedic/natural soap-free
cleansers. Summers were all about Just Herbs and all winters I have used the FE one. Both of these have suited my combi-dry skin perfectly and I just didn’t want to make any change to my cleansing routine. But when I saw this facial foam which is specially meant for the 30+ skin, I just couldn’t ignore it . Sounded so perfect, as I crossed that milestone last year!

The packaging is really attractive with all the red and gold. The tube comes sealed off; inside you’ll find thick, white foam with a pearly sheen. If I have to describe the texture, it is exactly what you have when you prepare your bleach cream, like a whipped cream. A little is required for the wash and you have this squeaky clean skin. I have combi-dry skin (summer-winter), and it really dries up my face at this time. But it is a perfect summer facewash for similar skin types.

In terms of the whitening effect claimed, it does give that temporary effect (I would love to see companies coming out with products focusing on brightening rather than whitening!). But you can have similar results with the Pond’s activated carbon face wash (the black one). And the pore-reducing claims, I think L’Oreal has seriously gone overboard! It does nothing. Period. Believe me. The foam mattifies your skin. That’s it.

Overall, I feel this is just an ordinary facewash. If you use the Pond’s black facewash and are happy with it, just stick to it. This one does nothing more. And this whole 30+ lure, now I seriously don’t know what it means! I have the day cream from the same duo, which I’ll review next. I hope it does well.

What I loved about L’Oreal Skin Perfect Anti-Aging Plus Whitening Facial Foam for 30+

•  Honestly, I don’t know what to write here. It is a good basic facewash if that’s what you want; makes your face squeaky clean; mattifies it; really good if you have oily skin.
• It’ll last you really long as only a little is required for each use.
• Dermatologically tested.

What I didn’t love much about L’Oreal Skin Perfect Anti-Aging Plus Whitening Facial Foam for 30+:

•  Dries up my already dry skin.
•  A single face wash for all skin types in the 30 plus age group.
•  The pore-reducing claim doesn’t work here.
• The cap doesn’t close properly; so not travel-friendly.
• 30 or not 30, this is an average facewash.
