Here’s another variant from the CC lip balm range of L’Oreal and in this post, I will share my thoughts on the shade “Summer Sienna.” It looks lovely in the tube, so read on to know how it fared on my skin tone.

My Experience with L’Oreal Summer Sienna Intelligent Color-Caressing Lip Balm:
The packaging is the selling point of this range; I bet you cannot resist picking up a shade or two from the collection when you see them at the counter. It is similar to the “Infallible” range packaging with a twist where the cap is sheer colored and in sync with the shade of the balm. The shade name and number are mentioned at the base of the tube. The ingredients are mentioned on the outer transparent cover, which would get lost if you rip off the cover.
The texture is just like butter, it has a slip to it which is not uncomfortable, but definitely unlike the thick healing lip balms. It is like a sheer layer of balm on the lips which imparts incredible shine to the lips. I found this shade to be a bit patchy, it did not apply evenly and even layering did not help.
“Summer Sienna” is a milky coral shade which looks very odd on my skin tone. It makes my face look tanned and also the uneven application makes it a dud (in the range). Even if I ignore the low pigmentation factor, it is a complete fail due to the uneven color deposition. I have to apply a lip liner beneath to wear it properly.
The staying power of the balm is 5 to 6 hours, although the shine and color vanishes in 2 hours or so, depending on the food and water intake. Even though the shine vanishes, it continues to hydrate the lips for some more time. This particular shade is a pass for me due to the uneven application and patchy look imparted to the lips.
Pros of L’Oreal Summer Sienna Intelligent Color-Caressing Lip Balm:

- Shiny finish.
- Glides on the lips like butter.
- Lips remain hydrated for long.
Cons of L’Oreal Summer Sienna Intelligent Color-Caressing Lip Balm:
- Expensive.
- Low staying power.
- Patchy application.
- Not for healing chapped lips.
- Shade does not suit my skin tone.
