Hi Girls,

I am going to review the L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara. I picked it up as soon as it hit the stores. After using the L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara in Carbon Black for a while, I started to explore L’Oreal mascaras. Honestly, after using the Miss Manga mascara, I can say I am not too impressed with it, don’t get me wrong I do love it, but I feel like the L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara in Carbon Black is a better buy.

This mascara’s name, “Miss Manga”, comes from the popular, wide eye, Asian anime look. From what I know and heard, false eyelashes are used in the advertising of mascaras, whether it is on the packaging or commercial and to achieve that particular anime look top and bottom false eyelashes are used.

Packaging and Wand:

The packaging is beautiful, sleek black tube paired with a fuchsia mirror finished cap. Without testing the product, the packaging is enough to convince girls to buy this product. And now the wand, the wand was my least favorite part about the mascara. This was my first time with a flexible wand and I thought the flexible wand was supposed to be a good thing. Well, in my opinion, now I want to stay away from flexible wands as much as I can. The brush is made of plastic bristles, pointy short bristles from the tip to longer bristles at the base. A great shape which gives you control of getting into the difficult inner corner lashes.

Performance:

The mascara works great, it builds up quick giving me thick and long lashes with two coats. From using this product for a while, I have learnt that it is better to wait longer to apply the next coat. If the coats are applied too quickly, without waiting for at least thirty seconds to a minute, the lashes will clump up resulting in tangled ends. Even though this happens with most mascaras, I have noticed that this happens more often with the Miss Manga mascara than it does with the L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara in Carbon Black. I have also noticed that with the flexible wand, I have a hard time controlling the application of the product, especially toward the end of my lashes. Since I can’t really have full control on the tips of my lashes, I end up with cluttered tangled lashes. And from experience, I know this is not due to the shape of the brush. The shape of the brush is one of the best shapes out there for mascaras. This particular shape applies more product to the lashes, makes them longer and thicker, resulting in artificial-looking lashes. Hence, I love the shape of the brush, the brush makes up for the flimsy wand.

I don’t think I would buy this product again, not because I hate it or it doesn’t work as expected, but because it’s just a mascara, and I, myself, love trying and buying mascaras. They are one of my favorite beauty products to buy. There are some people out there who might love flimsy, flexible wands, so I would recommend this mascara to them. The brush is fabulous and so is the consistency of the product.
