Greetings to loved ones!!!
No, I’m not high – it’s just the weekend bliss. Today, I bring to you a product which I did not believe in for a couple years now, but for the sole purpose of educating the masses and myself, I got it. It’s a face primer to be direct. For all these years, I did not bother with purchasing a fancy-schmancy foundation, let alone a primer. Around 90% of the primers I saw in the market were full of silicones and they kind of put a curtain between your skin and the foundation (Sephora and Smashbox – I am looking at you!!). So, what it reminded me was that wall in my building in Mumbai which every “paan eating person” spit on and then the government painted it every couple of years, you get my point right? Primers for me were just like that. Then, a lovely SA at Sephora put the Benefit Porefessional on me and my view kind of changed, but no way I was buying it. Thanks to L’Oreal, they bought a bunch of primers for drugstores and hence this review.

$20-25 in drugstores (keep a watch on offers).
My Take on L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher Cream:
I was so happy when I saw that it’s texture was more like a gel cream instead of the usual silicones, my skin promptly absorbs it. I have large pores around my nose and the area around it along with redness. When I applied it first, I was having a bad skin day and I saw some smoothening effect. After a while, my skin looked better in the mirror and the hubs actually said “see your skin looks better washed, why do you bother with makeup.” It does give a toned look to the skin and the pores appear minimized.
I noticed that I need less BB/foundation when I apply this and the skin looks much better. It does not give a tint/color to the face, but most days, I use only a powder with it and I’m set. Although, when I apply it with my fingers, they get slippery. So, everything slips if I don’t wipe my hands. L’Oreal claims it will minimize the pores in one month, but I doubt that. Your pores won’t vanish but would look less noticeable. I use this around the house everyday only so that I look less pore-y 😛
Pros of L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher Cream:
- It’s a very hassle-free product.
- Sinks into the pores/skin without feeling like a mask.
- An excellent dupe for the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and Benefit Porefessional.
- Cheaper than most high-ends in terms of quantity.
- No silicones *yayy*
Cons of L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher Cream:
- Obviously not a miracle product.
- Does not mattify the skin but it looks nice and healthy.
- No tint, so does not cover redness, brown patches.
- The foundation does not last very long on top of it, I have oily skin, so my makeup shelf time is 6 hours max, with this I feel slightly shiny in my T-zone at around 5th hour.
This is in my HG list for now. If you compare it with the Beauty Flash Balm/Porefessional, this one’s a win win, but I also heard that the miracle blur is quite popular.
