Today’s review is of a mascara in a bold blue shade from Lotus. I intended to pick the black one but I got this by accident and it was too late to exchange it because I discovered my folly after I opened the tube.

My Experience with Lotus Colorkick Length and Curl Mascara Royal Blue:
This mascara comes in a fun pink and yellow colored tube. It looks really nice and quirky but a little chubby to carry around. It feels a little cheap overall. The wand is not something that I really like; it has big bristles with gaps in between. Because of this, I can’t get enough product on my lashes.
“Royal Blue” is actually a bright blue color, more like a sky blue on the wand. I really like the color as it adds an instant pop to my eyes. This is not very loud but subtle on the eyes, in fact, people who shy away from bold colors, can give this a try for a change.
The texture of this mascara is a little dry, but coats my lashes well. One coat does not give any color; however, I was surprised! I had to go over 3 coats to get the blue color out. The only good part is that it does not clump; however, with many coats, it does.
It is also a little difficult to work with the wand too. It does not curl my lashes nor does it give me any volume. I have long lashes naturally and this just highlights the length. If I curl my lashes prior to application, then I can see some curled volume, else it doesn’t do anything on its own. Also, it is not waterproof but it resists smudge. It wears for around 4 hours after which it looks like I had nothing on! It is also easy to remove which I prefer because I don’t like residue on my eyes.
Overall, I’m not very impressed with this mascara, but I like the color and it feels good to switch from black mascara.
Pros of Lotus Colorkick Length and Curl Mascara Royal Blue:

- A really nice bright blue-colored mascara.
- Very affordable.
- Highlights the length of my lashes.
- The color is subtle.
- Does not clump.
- Resists smudge.
- Easy to remove.
Cons of Lotus Colorkick Length and Curl Mascara Royal Blue:
- Wand is not that great, difficult to coat the product on to lashes.
- Requires multiple swipes to get the color to show.
- Does not give any volume or curl.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Lotus Colorkick Length and Curl Mascara Royal Blue?
I’d recommend this only for the color if you want a break from the regular black.
