In this post, I will be sharing my views about Lotus Herbals Colorkick Lip Sugar in the variant “Vanilla”. These lip sugars have been recently launched by Lotus. Let’s get into the details to know more about it.

Product Description:
Colorkick Lip Sugar from Lotus Herbals is a dual combination of color and care. It heals like lip balm and offers extreme color like gloss. With SPF-20, it protects the lips from UV rays and keeps them soft and supple.

Active Ingredients:
·Sugar – Best exfoliating agent which removes tanning and lightens the dark lips. Sugar nurtures the lips while giving plump effect, shine and extreme hydration.
·Kokum Butter – Emollient rich butter that works as an effective moisturizer and regenerates lip skin cells.
·Shea Butter – Incredibly nourishing & moisturising and acts as a natural sunblock.
·Vitamin E – Powerful anti-oxidant and it maintains the youthful texture of the lips by reducing signs of ageing

How to Use:
·Glide along the lips on daily basis to enhance the color tone of the lips, use fingertips for exfoliation to remove dry and chapped lips.
·Use overnight to improve the lip texture and for extreme hydration.

My Experience with Lotus Herbals Colorkick Lip Sugar Vanilla:

Lotus Herbals Colorkick Lip Sugar Vanilla comes in a twistable, pretty pink tube like packaging. The tube is not evenly shaped and looks more like a bottle with transparent cap. The cap shuts with a sound of click which ensures that it will not come off on its own. The packaging is very sturdy. Unlike other lip balms, this one comes housed in a transparent box. The outer box houses only product description, while the lip sugar itself bears only the shade name. The ingredients list is completely missing out of the product. All the lips sugars have similar packaging and can be differentiated with the shade name written at the bottom. Other than that, the lips sugar has a transparent cap which also makes easy to identify the shade. When the bullet is twisted down, it completely goes into the tube which prevents it from getting broke. Overall, the packaging is pretty cute, easy to use, and travel-friendly.

“Vanilla” is a clear and transparent lip balm. It has a glossy sheen to it which becomes subtle afterwards and enhances the lips perfectly. It is perfect to wear under lipsticks. I have a very bad habit of licking off my lips which ultimately fades my lip product very soon; hence I opt for long wearing lipsticks. But, with regular usage of long wearing lipsticks there come dry and dehydrated lips as well. Hence a good lip balm is quite necessary. One can find more of clear lip balms in my stash rather than the tinted one. I always apply a clear lip balm beneath the lipsticks to keep the lips nourished. And, vanilla does this job perfectly. It does not hinder the staying power of the lipsticks and keeps my lips hydrated. A couple of swipes of this clear lip balm are sufficient as I don’t have to make any tint appear on my pigmented lips. It also comes with SPF 20.

The lip sugar in the shade “Vanilla” has a rich, creamy, thick texture that glides over the lips without any tugging or pulling. Despite having a thick texture, there is no waxy feeling. The formula of this lip sugar is very lightweight and non-sticky. There are very tiny particles in the balm which seem to be sugar. While applying, it does not feel gritty over the lips at all. Among all the three variants that I own, I only found it in vanilla that if I swipe my finger over the lips after the balm dries out (after 2 to 3), sometimes I can feel those tiny particles on lips. However, this case is not always and I think when I apply too many layers, only then it happens. It does not feel uncomfortable even after swiping it multiple times. It also does have a mild and pleasant fragrance, which can only be noticed while sniffing or applying the product. The fragrance is not very noticeable once I am done with the application of the balm.

This lip sugar hydrates the lips instantly and treats dryness and flakiness from the first use itself. It stays on the lips for 2.5 to 3 hours, provided I haven’t licked it off already. Even after that, the lips stay nourished. With regular usage, it improves the texture of the lips. My lips become less dry than before and stay soft. It heals dry and chapped lips effectively. It also works well as an exfoliator.

To use, I apply it to my lips and massage them gently. It buffs off the flaky skin gently and moisturises them. When I use the lip sugar overnight, it keeps my lips hydrated all night long and I wake up to nourished lips. The lip balm is not there, but the lips remains hydrated till the morning.

Overall, if you ask me to choose between clear lip balm from Maybelline Baby Lips and Lotus Lip Sugar, I would opt for Lotus Lip Sugar because, these are not at all sticky and provides better healing power. Also, the packaging is super-duper cute and pleasant fragrance. I had all the lip balms from Maybelline before I added these Lotus lip sugars to my stash. And, the Maybelline ones are all melting off, while the Lotus ones are still in their perfect shape.
