I wanted to pamper my skin with some good skin care products, so I decided to try this new range called “Dermo Spa” from Lotus Herbals. This range comprises of three sub ranges with different specifications to tackle different skin conditions. Today’s review is going to be on one such product called Lotus Herbals Dermo Spa Japanese Sakura Skin Whitening and Illuminating Day Crème. Read on to know how it fared for me.

My Experience with Lotus Herbals Dermo Spa Japanese Sakura Skin Whitening and Illuminating Day Creme:
The cream comes in a translucent, frosty finish, brown-colored glass jar. This jar has detailing on it in pretty gold fonts and it has a mirror finish, gold, screw-on lid. The lid closes tightly and makes this tub packaging leak proof, but the glass jar is bulky for carrying during travelling and it needs to be stored securely to prevent breakage. There is also a safety cover inside, which helps to keep the jar and its lid clean and mess-free. The jar does not bear much information about the product on it. Entire product-related information is printed on the outer packaging.
The cream is pure white in colour. It has a very refreshing floral fragrance, which is too mild and can be sniffed very close to the skin only. So, the fragrance is barely bothersome. I love the sweet floral hints in this day crème. The texture of the cream is thick, but it is not too thick, it feels buttery smooth and lightweight. It does feel heavy or sticky on the skin. It does not take much long to get absorbed into the skin. I simply spread this creme on my skin and press it in and it vanishes completely within seconds. It feels so comfortable on the skin, even in this humid weather. It does not make my skin oily. It does not leave any greasy residue behind. It does not feel that I have layered something heavy on my face. The cream blends easily and sets to a dewy finish. This adds a lovely glow to my face.
This formula claims to be enriched with the goodness of Japanese Sakura and Mulberry extracts, which helps to regulate melanin secretion and cleansing the skin deeply imparting better complexion. Though the brand claims it to be suitable for all skin types, the formula is moisturizing only for normal to oily skin, but I have been facing dry skin issues from quite some time, but this cream could not provide enough hydration and nourishment to my skin. So, I need a better hydrating product along with this to nourish my skin deeply.
If you have dry skin, this creme is just not enough to provide decent amount of hydration required. This is pretty safe to be used on my sensitive skin and does not cause any breakouts or skin ailments, so this is a pro of this range. My skin reacts easily to facial crèmes, but thankfully this creme did not create any skin issues.
Now, comes the skin lightening and whitening claims. This cream does not really lighten up the complexion but it made my skin even toned and glowing. It helped to get that flawless glow, but if you are really expecting it to lighten the skin tone, it is not going to help you out.
This crème comes with SPF 20 as it is a day crème and most of the day crèmes come with UV protection, but I feel SPF 20 is just not enough to prevent damage to skin from harsh sun rays. So, it is always better to use a sunscreen instead to prevent sun damage. Overall, this is a regular day crème and it does not really deliver any miraculous results.

Cons of Lotus Herbals Dermo Spa Japanese Sakura Skin Whitening and Illuminating Day Creme:
- This glass jar is not travel friendly.
- Needs to be stored carefully.
- Some may find this jar packaging unhygienic.
- Does not provide enough nourishment to dry skin.
- SPF 20 is not enough to protect skin completely.
- Does not really whiten or lighten the skin tone.
