Lotus Herbals Fruity Fusion Lip Balm Review

Lotus Herbals Fruity Fusion Lip Balm Review

Hi Everyone,

Today, I am going to review Lotus Herbals Lip Balm in Fruity Fusion variant.  I have religiously used the strawberry lip balm by Lotus for ages, but I was bored of the same taste/flavour/colour/name, so I thought of buying the mixed fruit one this time. Once when I was bored, I got the orange lip balm by Lotus and it made my lips dry. Let’s see if mixed fruit was the perfect substitute or not.

Product Being Reviewed:

Lotus Herbals Fruity Fusion Lip Balm.

Net Weight:

5 g.

Shelf Life:

3 years.

Product Description:

The lip balm is highly active moisturizing formula combines the benefits of mixed fruit extract, honey and other precious herbal oils such as Almond and Wheatgerm. It helps to repair dry, cracked and chapped lips and protects them from the drying effect of cold, dry winds of winter making them look healthier and smoother.

Key Ingredients:

Mixed Fruit extract, Honey, Jojoba oil, Almond oil and Wheat germ oil.

Price/Packaging:

It comes in a cute jar, tub-like packaging. The jar is very cute as such , but for hygiene sake, I don’t prefer it because the fingers have to be dipped into it to get out the product and hence million-trillion-zillion bacteria may get transferred to the product and thereafter to my lips :yikes:

My Take on Lotus Herbals Fruity Fusion Lip Balm:

I have already described the packaging above, so I shall start with the texture.  It is a wax-like lip balm which feels a little thick on the lips; also, it doesn’t spread easily. The other thing which I noticed was that it has to be scraped out of the tub and this happens because the texture is a little on the harder side.

fruity lip balm

It is a light pinkish- peach-coloured lip balm which has no pigmentation whatsoever and only gives a shine to the lips. Again, the shine is not too palpable. The fragrance is somewhat of strawberries and avocado and that is the best thing about this balm.  It stays on the lips for 2-3 hours after which it needs to be reapplied. Coming to the moisturisation part, the strawberry-flavoured variant by the same company is much better than the mixed fruit one, i.e., the one which is being reviewed; it does an okay job of moisturising but nothing amazing.

Summarising the pros and cons of the lip balm:

Pros of Lotus Herbals Fruity Fusion Lip Balm:

  • Has ingredients like jojoba oil and almond oil which are considered very good for the skin and lips alike.
  • Fragrance is mild, you can smell strawberries and avocado.
  • Cute little jar packaging which is quite sturdy.

Cons of Lotus Herbals Fruity Fusion Lip Balm:

  • Packaging though is cute and sturdy, still it is really unhygienic to take out the product with the fingers.
  • The texture is quite thick, hence the balm needs to be scraped out every time I want to use it.
  • Does not moisturise well irrespective of the presence of almond oil, jojoba oil, etc.
  • Feels a little thick on the lips and does not spread easily.
  • Has no SPF content and that is a con as these days we do get lip balms with SPF content.

Will I Repurchase/Do I Recommend Lotus Herbals Fruity Fusion Lip Balm?

No, I will not. I would suggest the strawberry variant instead.

  5. the strawberry one is really good. have used it lots of times and thought that all lotus lip balms were good, hence gifted this one to my mother.. its been over a year and she still has not used it :(( you are right shivani, the texture of this one is way too hard and waxy as compared to the strawberry one.
i did like neutrogena lip balm too. currently using maybelline one in dolly rose, quite liking the soft pink tint it has 🙂
