Lotus Herbals Shampoo

My Experience with Lotus Herbals Kera Veda Amlapura Shikakai Amla Herbal Shampoo:

Well, I decided to purchase this shampoo after I started using Lotus Herbals Keda Veda Hair Roots Active Herbal Tonic to combat the problems of hair fall and excessive oiliness of scalp (you can read the Keda Veda Hair Roots Active Herbal Tonic review by Shivani here).
It is recommended that with Hair Roots Active Herbal Tonic, one uses the Kera-Veda range of shampoos to get better results. Since I have an oily scalp and normal hair type, I assumed this shampoo is what I should invest in.
Hair oil
It comes in a strong, almost opaque, bright yellow-colored bottle. It has a tight, green-colored, flip-open cap while the shampoo is a light, honey-colored, transparent liquid with a runny consistency. It smells mildly of herbs and this smell is somewhat akin to the fragrance of most of the ‘herbal shampoos’ that are available in the market. It lathers abundantly when taken in the right quantity and cleanses the scalp effectively of the excess oil and dirt. At the same time, it does not leave the hair absolutely dry, which is why, I think, the shampoo has ingredients that do not rob the hair of the much-desired natural oils. I like the shampoo quite a lot, though I am not sure if it really helps in stopping hair fall!
Lotus Shampoo

Pros of Lotus Herbals Kera Veda Amlapura Shikakai Amla Herbal Shampoo:

  • It contains the goodness of Shikakai, Amla, Reetha and Behra extracts.
  • It claims to remove pollutants and impurities from scalp while giving strength to hair and maintaining the natural pH balance of hair.
  • It is suitable for daily use.
  • The herbal fragrance is not very strong.
  • It efficiently cleans the scalp and does a decent job as a hair cleanser.
  • It is clearly mentioned that the shampoo is meant for normal to oily hair and hence, no confusion involved therein.
  • Though formulated for normal to oily hair, it does not leave the hair excessively dry.
  • It does not make the hair tangled.
  • It is affordably priced at Rs. 155 for 220 ml.
  • It didn’t trigger any hair fall once I started using it.
  • The packaging is good.

Cons of Lotus Herbals Kera Veda Amlapura Shikakai Amla Herbal Shampoo:

• The list of active ingredients has been mentioned, but the complete list of ingredients is absent. • It does not impart much shine to hair.

Final Verdict:

In short, the shampoo is good for normal to oily hair. Considering the price at which it comes, it does a decent job. I am not sure if it really helps in stopping hair loss (moreover, I personally, believe that no shampoo can stop hair loss just by itself; one needs to combine it with a healthy diet, regular hair care, relevant hair treatments and even the prescribed medicines of a physician to get the best results because, chronic hair loss is often a result of internal problems), but it has not caused any hair loss on its own. This shampoo is definitely worth a try. I personally like to use it along with a regular dose of Lotus Herbals Keda Veda Hair Roots Active Herbal Tonic.
