Lotus Herbals Moist Petals Lipstick in Grape Wine Review

Lotus Herbals Moist Petals Lipstick in Grape Wine

Hi IMBBians

Today I am going to review lotus herbals ultra moisturising lip color in the shade grape wine. Till now most of you know- if I am reviewing a lotus herbals product, it ought to be my mom’s. She picked two shades a few months back in a hurry without trying the testers. Read on to know how this one faired on me.

Price: INR 349

Product description:

A premium quality luxurious lip color, so creamy, gives soft silky and comfortable feel to lips while enhancing the look. This lip color also hydrates, nourishes and protects lips for hours.

• Botanical, moisturizing and nourishing extracts.
• Intensive color.
• Dazzling shine.

Ingredients:

It contains botanical extract of symphytum officinale and plantago oyata seed and sambacus nigra seed.

My experience with Lotus Herbals Moist Petals Lipstick in Grape Wine:

This comes in a maroon and golden packaging with the shade name at the bottom. The ‘lotus herbals’ brand name written on the golden background on the cap tends to fade with time. So I have attached a pic showing before and after version of the case. Most of the lipsticks of this range which my mom owns do not have the name print now – it has faded completely.

It has a sturdy pack and closes with a click sound making it travel friendly. The shade name made my mom think that it would be a mauvish maroon kind of a shade but it actually turned out to be a dark purple- maroon shade. It was much darker than expected. Some ladies may be able to carry this shade on some occasions but it is a complete no-no for me and my mum. I wore this lipstick for swatches and I was scared to look in the mirror- it was that horrible for me. I could do a vamp role wearing this shade. 😛 This shade does not have shimmers unlike the one I reviewed earlier. Needless to say this shade is not for college goers but may be for some mature ladies will like it. My mother does not like it as well. She made it a point, not to purchase without trying the testers from next time onwards.

Texture is smooth and easy to glide on though it is not ultra moisturising as the name suggests. Ultra moisturising for me is something like Revlon colorburst range or Chambor silk touch range. It has a nice sheen to it when applied freshly but tends to dry after an hour or so. It is light weight and does not feel cakey or heavy on lips.

The pigmentation is great. It would cover pigmented lips very well. It does transfer to cups etc. Staying power is for 3-4 hours without meals/drinks.

It has a different kind of smell which is although very faint but I do not like it because I have sensitive nose.

So overall, this one is neither liked by me nor my mother.

Pros of Lotus Herbals Moist Petals Lipstick in Grape Wine:

• 97% natural ingredients (that is the only reason my mom buys lotus herbals products)
• Easy to glide on.
• Has a nice sheen to it when freshly applied.
• May interest some mature ladies.
• Great pigmentation
• Fairly priced
• Easily available

Cons of Lotus Herbals Moist Petals Lipstick in Grape Wine:

• I do not like the shade at all.
• Faint smell that would bother only sensitive noses like me.
• Starts drying after an hour or so.
• Staying power is average.
• Packaging is not attractive for me.
• Most of the shades in this range have maroon undertones or are complete maroons itself.

Imbb rating: 2.5/5

Recommend/repurchase: You can purchase this shade if you like it for some occasions. I would definitely not buy this ever again.

Until next time, take care.

  1. Purely gothic..lol…I watched an youtube video Yesterday Sahiba…it was by Lisa Eldridge …she was using using a dark Tom ford lipstick and was showing how to make it wearable…you can check it….

  2. Definitely not an everyday shade. But would look good on very pale skin if going for a gothic look. I expect anything which has “grape” in its name to be a kinda gothic shade. *ghost* *ghost*
