Lotus Herbals Natural Blend Botanical Blusher Review

Lotus Herbals Natural Blend Botanical Blusher Review

I have of late become a sucker for blushes and trust me, I thought blush was one overrated pigment before I knew IMBB ๐Ÿ˜€ . So anyway, thanks to the numerous reviews and pictures of eye-popping-ly beautiful blushes (and some having jaw-dropping-ly- high price tags) on IMBB ,I now crave for a blush whenever I visit a makeup shop (Thanks to my upcoming exams I am saving a lot of money because I am not going shopping). One problem with me, is that, every time I go to buy a new blush, I come home with a peach one. Same thing happened when I went to buy the Lotus Natural Blend Blusher.

I went to the Lotus counter (now this needs some planning, because where I live, there are no lotus makeup stuff available. I had to locate one at the nearest Big Bazaar). So before I went I was determined โ€œNo Peach this time-either pink or brownโ€. No prizes for guessing, I came back with a peachy pigment..again.

Lotus Natural Blend Botanical Blusher: Price Rs 329 The shade I bought is named Brew Ginger (604). The blush comes in an extremely beautiful and classy red and gold container. I get drawn to black, gold and red like pins to a magnet. I love the blusher case so much that I canโ€™t wait to flip it open and flaunt it (ok wearing blush in public is kinda moron-ish ๐Ÿ˜€ but I can check my face, There is also a mirror in it :).) And I must mention the brush that comes along with it. Itโ€™s quite apt in picking up the right amount of blush and very very soft. Somehow I feel the blush is best applied with this brush only!!!!

Some key Ingredients of the Botanical blusher by Lotus-mentioned on the back of the carton: Witch Hazel Extract, Aloe Vera Extract, Grape Seed Extract. Provide environmental protection and nourishment for skin. The blusher has SPF-20 (but that would only protect the apples of my cheeks ๐Ÿ™ )
Ok, so I went to the counter and the SA showed me the three available shades: the one I got, a pretty pink one and a beige one. Now the SA swatched the blush and told me-โ€œLook, peach one is good for youโ€ and got me into usual trouble. I swatched the peach and pink blush twice on the hands and once on the cheeks (can you believe it??) and then..TADAA..went for the PEACH ๐Ÿ˜€

The color of this blush is very subtle. The pigmentation is not very deep. It has no shimmer and is matte subtle peach. I kinda like it because it prevents me from overdoing. Swipe twice and I get just the soft peachy tint I want. And although at first the pigment seems to be faint, it actually lasts all day. Now my skin gets oily in 5 minutes after makeup-but this blush gets only better with that.

Lotus Natural Blend Botanical Blusher

Swatch of the Blush (3 swipes) Can you see the blush on me? Thatโ€™s after a whole day out in the sun without touch up!!

OK so what do I love about my first Lotus blush?
1. Packaging: Just classy! Itโ€™s great to have something like this and at gatherings take it out and expect many โ€œooh! Wazzat??โ€ to fly in !!!
2. The blush is very buildable-it isnโ€™t very deep in pigmentation and so you can control the amount very precisely. Overdone blushes no wonder look very silly.
3. Stays long-at least for 4 to 5 hours even if you use a compact on it for touch ups
4. The brush is more useful than the ones that come with other blushesโ€“even better than the Maybelline Expert Wear โ€˜s one
5. The blusher has a great fragrance and has herbal ingredients (and SPF20)
6. Didnโ€™t break me out

And what did I not like?
1) Its again PEACH (ok..skip that one :D)
2) It is completely matte-I sort of like shimmery blushes
3) There are only 3 shades, the pink one is too pink and the beige is โ€“dunno what-dint like it much
As for the price, it is more than Colorbarโ€™s but less than Lakme pure rougeโ€™s. I think itโ€™s quite reasonable.

I rate it: :-* :-* :-* :-*

    1. previously I thought about a theory of “one’s own color”-some color that suits us exactly..and we like them just all the time…seeing Rati I have junked the idea :pissedoff: :pissedoff: :pissedoff: …she wears peach pink brown n nudes and looks equally good in all of them.. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

  3. Rati even I bought this Lotus Peach creme straight out without swatching other shades because you had recommended this  I see I am doing that a lot nowadays for things reveiwed here..but sadly for me my lips swell when I use Lotus one..so I was thinking of revlon peach..though Lotus peach is gawjus..

    1. At the Lotus counter I was like hummming “peach creme -pink blush-peach creme – pink blush” …khik khik..the Lotus lady said..”OK..if you take anything in place of this..you will have nightmares” and sent me off to the cash counter ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. Hi anuradha,
