The sound of the word “IMBBians” forms a funny image in my mind – this whole community being a college and its students submitting our research papers. 😀 Today I am going to review a product from the Lotus Herbals Safe Sun range.

The body lotion comes in the standard Lotus Herbals orange colored plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. Please choose a properly packaged bottle. Unfortunately, I overlooked the packaging which was just a transparent paper wrap. When I came back home, I noticed a white fluid covering the bottom of the pump dispenser; it was gross. However after cleaning the mess, the pump did not leak again but there is no way to lock the pump which makes it impossible to take the bottle during travel.
My Experience with Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UV-Protect Body Lotion SPF 25 PA +++:
I have an oily face, but the skin on my other body parts is pretty normal. In summers, my regular sunscreen for face is moisturising enough for my body too. But in winters I need something heavier. So I gave this body lotion a try in place of my usual sunscreen. It has SPF 25 with Vitamin B3 and E. The product is white in color with a very mild floral smell that lingers for around three hours on my skin. I use it daily in the morning after shower.
The lotion has a thick consistency, but nothing too runny or creamy. It does not get quickly absorbed into the skin if you just coat yourself with it. I dot it where required and then work it into the skin in circular motions. This way it gets absorbed nicely and gives the skin a smooth texture. The moisturising effect lasts whole day for me, but dry skinned people might have to reapply after 4 or 5 hours.The lotion is not greasy and also will not give a white cast if applied properly.
The company advises to use it in the evening as well. But I do not use any SPF products in the evening to avoid the risk of clogged pores. And also I have not observed any skin tone lightening despite two months of daily use, as per the company’s claim (not that I’m interested in skin lightening). Overall it is a nice body lotion with SPF for normal skin that does not have to deal with major dry/itchy skin concerns.

• Nice floral smell which lasts for few hours
• All day moisturisation for normal skin
• Affordable

• Cheap packaging
• False claims of skin lightening
• Takes time to get absorbed

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UV-Protect Body Lotion SPF 25 PA +++?
Maybe if I don’t get excited seeing some other new product, I would repurchase it. 😛 I recommend it for someone with normal skin that just needs some extra moisturisation in winters, and for those lazy bums (like me) who want a lotion and sunscreen in one go.
