Today I am here with my first review from the brand Lotus Herbals. And it’s a lip liner in shade poppy plum. Previously I was not a lover of lip liners, but lately started loving them. Read on to know more about the product.

Packaging: The pencil comes in a good quality plastic, fully color-coded body with a twist up mechanism, that is two ways retractable, so no worries if you twist up more than you want. At the bottom, it has an attached sharpener to it, which is not much usable, unless you always need that sharp tip instead of that rounded one which happens in such twist up pencils..

Shade, Texture & Pigmentation: The shade ‘Poppy plum’ is a light shade of plum with some pinkish touch to it. It’s not a rich or deep shade of plum just a mauvish plum shade. The shade will look good on almost every skin tone, mostly fair skin tone beauties. But the shade is not much suitable for young girls, as this kind of lip liner can only be teamed up with purplish or plum shade lipsticks.

The texture of the lip liner is just perfect as like most of the girls like it to be. It’s not that super duper creamy and neither tugging and hard to glide. It is smooth and glides very easily on lips without any pulling. The liner renders enough hydration; I didn’t the feel the need of applying lip balm over it. It gives a semi matte kind of finish and can emphasize flaky lips, so exfoliating lips will be better before applying it as a lip color alone or with a lipstick. The liner is decently pigmented, it covers imperfections of lips in one swipe and can be used as a lip color alone, or as a base or simply lining lips and teamed up with plum or mauve lipsticks.

Staying Power: Being from the lip liner family it doesn’t impress me in the longevity department, but it stays put for at least 4 hours with light meals in between without fading, it won’t transfer onto anything and is waterproof. And for the price I cannot complain.
