Lotus Herbals Stick Foundation Review, Swatches

Lotus Natural Blend Swift Makeup (Stick Foundation) review

For many days I had been looking for a foundation that has the following characteristics:

1) It should not be liquid or mousse-I have them both 2) It should be light weight and non-comedogenic (not clogging pores) 3) Should not be cakey and finally 4) Should be very close to my skin tone. Surfing through stores , I came across the Lotus Natural Blend Stick foundation and found that it claims to satisfy my first two criteria :D. When I went to the store to actually buy it-I got confirmed on my third wish but got a little confused on the fourth. This was when the SA (for one of the few times in life) helped me out and suggested me a shade that I found to be suiting my skin to the T! Me Happy!!!!

Lotus Natural Blend Swift Makeup SPF 15: Price Rs 249 Shade: Natural Beige

Lotus Herbals Stick Foundation

First of all I got quite happy with the price-because I thought Okay! Even it doesn’t suit me-its not actually going to hurt me much . 🙂  One thing I don’t like about Lotus Herbals is that their website does not give the shade details-so I had to go to the Lotus counter with a blank face and ask- “Show me the stick foundation of my skin tone!!!! (Trust me-Its smarter to go to the store and mention the shade names- the SAs at once know this is a practiced customer 😀 )

This is what the Lotus Herbals Website says about the Lotus NaturalBlend Swift Makeup-
“All-in-one make-up that works like a foundation, a concealer & a compact, with sun protection. Its smooth application creates an even skin tone, conceals imperfections & blends easily for a matte effect, without caking or clogging pores.”

Description of the Product: The stick foundation is about an inch in diameter and comes in a twist up red container with a lid having a clear top. Frankly-I don’t like the packaging –it is not classy like the Lotus Natural Blend blush’s-but off course that’s not an issue. The stick is about 1.5 inches in length and promises sufficient amount for its price.

My Take on the Product:

When the SA swatched it on the back of my palm, I was confused as it looked some pinkish beige in color that I thought would stand out on my face (pink makeup!!! Noooo). However, after swatching it on my jawline-I decided to go for it. Coming home-I did my full face with it and Voila! I knew I had my next HG foundation!! (after Revlon New Complexion Makeup-that is) This is what I felt after applying the Lotus Natural Blend foundation which says “Four in One foundation- concealer-with a matte powder finish-yet moisturizing” (That is what is written on the product container ☺) :
1) It feels very light on skin
2) It is extremely easy to blend
3) It gives medium coverage

With this view-I wore it for a full day occasion and thereby could know about its pros and cons in yet further details.

Pros of Lotus Herbals NaturalBlend Swift Makeup

1) It didn’t break me out or irritate the skin in any way
2) It blends effortlessly and evenly. Non sticky-no mess formula. Simply dab in dots or long streaks and blend outwards
3) Non cakey-this is “Photography safe”!!! It means your face won’t look like a 50 Watt CFL bulb in photos after using this foundation-guaranteed!!!!
4) The tone of the foundation has suited my skin tone to the T. I guess it would suit most of the Indian cool-wheatish tones. There are two other shades available-but their names are not listed on the website and I don’t remember them . 🙁
5) Stays for long. The foundation makes the look completely natural and doesn’t fade/darken even after a whole summer-day wear
6) Claims to have SPF 15. Has a nice fragrance

Cons of Lotus Herbals NaturalBlend Swift Makeup SPF 15

1) No ingredient list is mentioned – neither on the product , nor on the website.
2) It is very creamy- and the finish comes out to be sheer rather than powdery matte on my normal to oily skin. I don’t think this will be a good option for very oily skin. But for normal to dry skin –this can be the “Oh so Right” foundation
3) My skin felt a bit oily after sometime of application-which I neutralized with buffing some compact
4) Coverage is medium.

I would rate this product: :-* :-* :-* :-*  and would purchase this even before it ends 🙂

That’s me wearing this foundation with Maybelline Whitestay UV Compact and some blush 🙂

  1. looks lovey on ur skin!   ive been looking for a foundation for summers for so long.there is simply nothing for oily skin with pores which would minimise their appearence.
    so dissapointed!

    1. ohh!! :(( 🙁 I guess you should try the revlon colorstay or new complexion makeup-also I used the Maybelline Matte Mousse foundation which gives a superb finish if used in the right shade..you just have to try some options and you will surely get the right one 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. No Rati, it is very light and the finish is sheer-totally weightless-and I just needed some occasional buffs of compact as I have an oily T zone :)) rest all :waytogo: :waytogo:

        1. Well you know-this stick worked great for the small acne marks and gave my skin a flawless finish-but I think it may not be a very good under eye concealer as it has medium coverage-still I would rate it highly as a basic foundation+concealer as it is non cakey and effortlessly blendable :)) :)) :inlove: :inlove:

          1. any ideas about the L’oreal foundation? i picked tht up recently. this foundation looks really nice on you Anuradha. flawless..

thnkx for d review :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

  4. o god looks lovely on your skin, and i want to try it. basically i want a product that can work as a concealer for under eye area. this seems to be good. how does this perform once set with powder. have you tried using this as a concealer..

    1. I would suggest using Maybelline Matte mousse as a foundation-cum-concealer-as it gives full coverage. As for this one -this works fine once set with powder- it hides the few acne spots I have very well-however the coverage is medium-so I think it wouldnt work that well as an under eye concealer :(( but surely u can give it a try :))

      1. maybelline matte mousse is a wonderful product. good option. as a concealer i first use the loreal comcealer and top that with the mousse and a powder to set. works well for me but i get tempted so easily so always ready to buy new stuff..:)

        1. same here!!!!! Like the Revlon New Complexion Make up suits me soooo much that honestly I dont need to try anything else-but still-the passion (read drooling) for new stuff never dies-but it feels good when at least I hit upon a useful product 🙂 🙂 🙂 :victory:

  5. anuradha mayebleine mouse is wat am sticking too and yes geting the damn shade right is very difficult with those but i still need sumthng more easy and natural!
and small town not much products available.was thinking of getng avon gel foundation chotu tube

    1. even i’m looking for a v.good compact/loose powder for oily/combi skin….
heard lotus botanical compact is gud….any idea?

Anuradha, this looks just lovely on ur skin…
and the maybelline uv that u r using, that too luks too god…

me too wanted to buy that compact but got confused b/w the shades?
cudnt decide whish shade to go for….
is that fawn shade the closest one for ur skintone?

      1. No Ann-in fact the choice of shades in this Maybelline compact is a bit tricky- Fawn is one (or may be one and a half :D) shade darker than my tone and it gives a perfect natural finish without giving whitish casts. The other shade natural is very close to my skin tone but looks patchy and whitish!!!!! after a few blunders or so-I have recognized the correct product for me 🙂 🙂

        1. tnx a lot anuradhaa :))
          i had the same problem…
actually the SA had suggested that i shud go 4 the natural shade but when i tried, it looked whitish on me, n i didnt pick fawn thinking that it wud be dark….
now that u’ve told me, i’ll definitely try fawn next time, thankyoooo :hugleft:

  6. Well my experience with Avon gel foundation was BAAD as I found it really patchy and hard t blend.. :(( You can use the Oriflame Air Soft powder-I heard it works great -but you know I once made a disaster with the Lakme rose powder and now stay away from them 😀 😀 😀 I just use the Maybelline Whitestay UV Compact in Fawn-it is just so nice and absorbs all the oils without clogging pores :waytogo:

  7. Thanks Prachi, I found his to be just the right foundation that serves to conceal minor marks and spots efficiently-and the flawless finish lasts all day long!!! :)) :))

      1. heyy rati..me soo happy yaa.. did lodz of shoppin today .. me soo exited to shw ya all my stuff..will be sending u my HAUL post.. :jiggy2: :jiggy2: :jiggy2:

ohh and jus for info – today is d last day for sale session in ALDO..d SA told me.. :-/

  8. hehehe-for me-I always notice the blushes/bronzer in pics 😀 🙂 🙂 Natasha I am wearing a Faces Cosmetics Lippy in the shade Jazzy Berry 🙂

    1. ok, its pweeety :woot: :woot: :woot: from the matte or moisture rich range? tell tell, me buy tomorrow only

      1. emm well-the Moisture rich range is the one you reviewed today right? Then I think its from the matte range-coz the container is not similar to the Moisture rich range-it is an all black container 🙂 🙂

  9. :waytogo: nice review anu..me also have same stick in HONEY BEIGE # 710-n i absolutely adore it.. :yahoo: :yahoo:

    1. Thanks a looooooot for this review, am definitely going to buy this soon. U know Anuradha, I was planning to get a foundation for me , and I think this is the best I can have, :)) And after you told me about Modern museum store, I had gone there, I bought a Maybelline color sensational lipstick at Rs 284 after discount, amazing store, It also has colorbar USA and FACES cosmetics counter :yahoo: :yahoo: :thanks:

      1. Another question I wanted to ask you?? which one would be a better blush dear, colorbar blush/ Lakme cheek artist or any other under Rs 400?? Please do reply.

        1. OK..Replying you one by one:
First of all Thaaankuuuuuuuuuuuuuu     :puchhi:
Secondly Hawwww I missed the Discount at MM!!! Its an awwsum store aint it?? one stop shop for all makeup needs 🙂
Thirdly I am afraid-I am yet to try either a colorbar blush or the lakme cheek artist-I love the maybelline expert wear blush, the Lakme Pure Rouge Blush and also the Lotus Natural Blend Blush :)) :)) All these are priced below 300 bucks . But you can surely try Colorbar blushes-they are highly acclaimed :)) :))

  10. anuradha..this is so flawlesss and absolutely value for money…once my MAc and TBS get over …….will try this……on second thoughts will buy it in a while;P 😛 😛

  11. I say you can safely go for this one-I find it a total value for money product 🙂 🙂 :waytogo: :waytogo:

  12. ok thanks every one of you, for now i am going to use the maybelline mousse, it is non oily, so it is even nicer for my oily skin. if any one finds a concealer for oily skin, especially a concealer for dark under eye circles, do let me know.

i love the maybelline mousse’s texture, its really like butter on skin.

  13. Wow, so wonderful you look. Even I have started using it and I am completely satisfied. I bought it from a friend who wasnt satisfied with the shade luckily matched my tone. Even i am planning to go the store and look for more shades before buying the next one. Keep penning 🙂

  14. M having a very fair complexion….. Will it work on my skin ??evn i hav a vry oily skin but it looks realy working on evrrybody’s skin and lotus herbals has always presented products value for miney ..but having a very fair compleion will it actually work on my face ?? 😮

  15. I bought this foundation in shade 703 which matched my skin tone. But after application it gives a white cast on the skin and doesn’t give proper coverage too. I applied it on my dark circles and looked weird. Didnt like it much
