My Experience with Lotus Makeup Coral Ice Ecostay Long Lasting Lip Colour:
This lipstick comes in a metallic pinkish cardboard packaging, which bears the details like product description, shade number and name, manufacturing and expiry dates, etc. Inside this packaging, you will find a beautiful rose gold lipstick tube wrapped in a pretty satiny pink pouch. The packaging is so beautiful and girly. So, I want to give full marks to the packaging of this lipstick. It looks so luxurious and feminine. This long and slender lipstick tube has a mirror finish. The lipstick body is not colour-coded, so I need to check at its base for the shade name, but I do not consider it as a flaw because I am already in love the packaging. The tube has a long cap indicating the brand name. The cap fits securely and never come off while carrying around. The shape of the lipstick bullet is a little different and prefer applying it using a brush rather than directly from the bullet.
The shade “Coral Ice” is a pretty orange-coral shade. I had already mentioned it in my earlier posts that I am an all-time coral lipstick lover. I prefer coral for daily use over bold and brighter lipstick shades. This shade goes so well with my skin tones, but it will not flatter dusky skin tones and will surely wash them out. The shade is indeed very pretty but the presence of golden-colored shimmers impart a slightly chunky appearance.
This shade is very close to Faces Ultime Pro Lasting Kiss Starry Matte Lip Crayon, but I feel the texture is quite better than the Faces crayon. The pigmentation of the lipstick is average. For the color to get intense and to hide pigmented lips, I require to go over multiple times. The color is easily buildable, but it will not hide extremely pigmented lips. The lipstick comes with SPF 20 and that makes it fit to be used under the sun. The lipstick sets to a velvety matte finish after a while and looks nice on the lips.
The texture of the lipstick is soft and smooth, and glides on the lips nicely. The presence of shimmers in the lipstick impart a bit of grittiness to the texture, but it drags on the lips sometimes, so I always apply a lip balm underneath. Exfoliation is definitely mandatory before application as the shade tends to cling on to dry patches of the lips and then highlights them. The color looks even and never gets patchy. The lipstick does not have a heavily transferring formula. The formula of the lipstick is quite moisturizing initially but my lips become dry after some time. I feel that it does not provide any hydration to the lips. Also, my lips start to feel dry after a meal and I need a lip balm to keep my lips moisturized. The brand claims that the lipstick is 100% vegetarian. It has no significant smell, so it will not bother sensitive noses. The formula is feathery light and feels comfortable on the lips. It does not have a thick or waxy texture. The lipstick does not bleed or smudge at all. The lipstick stays in place without budging.
The lipstick lasts for some 5-6 hours on my lips with constant sipping. It survives light meals with a little fading from the inner corners of the lips. But after a full meal, the color gets ripped off and settles into the fine lines of the lips. The lipstick does not leave any stain behind and the color can be taken off easily even with a wipe, but the shimmers in the lipstick are quite difficult to remove. Overall, I really like the shade but I am not much impressed with its texture.
