My Experience with Lotus Makeup Ecostay Super Finish Mousse SPF 20:

This foundation comes in a cute little glass tub with a metallic pink lid. The packaging is really cute and can be easily traveled along with. The tub is pretty sturdy. The only drawback is the tub type packaging with no spatula provided. You have to use your fingers to remove the product, which isn’t that hygienic.

This foundation comes only in 3 shades according to the S.A. and she matched me to this shade called “Bright Angel M2.” It isn’t a perfect match for me, but it doesn’t look that weird too. It blends into my skin and after using a compact that is a tiny bit dark for me, it matches my skin perfectly. Lotus being an Indian makeup brand, it should’ve come up with at least 4-5 different shades, because this particular shade is supposed to match medium skin tones and it is still light for my complexion.

The texture is mousse like and is of thick and whipped consistency. There’s no smoothness to it though. Usually mousse foundations feel very smooth when you touch them, this doesn’t feel that smooth. It is also thicker than other mousse products when you touch it. But what I really like about this foundation is that it blends very easily in spite of being thick. This foundation is very different in that matter. It looks thick and feels thick, but on your face, it is so light that you hardly even feel there’s something on.

I’ve noticed that it goes on very smoothly on well-moisturised face. It’s just so much easier to blend when your face is moisturised, that it feels like you’re applying any other product. This mousse is best applied as instructed. You dot around the face with this mousse and gently blend it using swiping motion. Also, use a little product because that way, it is very easy to blend. If you take more, chances are it will take more time to blend to perfection.

I’ve tried using a beauty sponge to blend it in, but it takes a lot of time that I gave up and used my fingers to do it. It does emphasize dry patches hence you should moisturise your face well before using it. It settles to a powder finish which is so great! They haven’t mentioned it anywhere that it gives a nice powder finish to your face. I skipped using a compact to try out how it fares and it passed the test!

I also used this under my eyes and it did not crease one bit, that too without setting it with a powder. I’m super impressed with this mousse! Also, I had gone out in the humid climate and it did not make my face look oily. I also applied my matte sunscreen over it and it did or crease or feel heavy or anything like that. It stayed on my face for a good 5-6 hours (3 hours of which I was indoors and 2 hours I was out in the sun sweating heavily) after I came home, my face still looked good which is a great thing.

It provides light coverage, so you have to layer this one a couple of times to get medium to full coverage. I used only one layer all over my face and then just used it once more only to cover up some spots, like a concealer. It gives a nice and natural look without concealer too. I can totally use just this one and call it a day! It has a strong fragrance of Pond’s cold cream that I don’t mind.

Yes, I would recommend it if you can get your shade matched to the shades available and I wish they came up with a tube version of this.
