The product I am going to review today here on the blog is because of my mother. You see, I was just cleaning through all my cosmetics (on my mother’s final threat that if I don’t clean it, she herself will throw away everything I don’t use *hihi*), and that’s when I came across something which I had almost forgotten – Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Absolute Broad Spectrum Anti Tan Crème (Phew! that’s quite a mouthful, don’t you think?). Well, before you form any opinion, let me tell you this; I had not forgotten about it because I didn’t like it, but because maa got the new Neutrogena Sun Block SPF 50 and I had started using that, so forgot about this.

Product Description:

Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Absolute Broad Spectrum Anti Tan Crème (intensive sunblock & skin lightening) SPF 50 PA+++ (Phew!) comes in a rectangular box. The colour of the box and the product inside are same; the traditional lotus orange yellow mix.  Coming to the product, it comes in the same old Lotus tube packaging, with a flip cap. Its not that tight kind of flip which is the worst enemy for your beautiful pedicured nails, instead, its fairly easy to open and the pack is travel friendly.

Price:

It comes in two sizes; 100 gm tube and 50 gm. I got the latter one which was priced at Rs. 285/-, with an expiry of 3 years from the date of manufacture.

Ingredients:

Safe Sun Absolute anti tan crème is a high intensity sun block crème that protects during long outdoor exposure to sun. Its highly active ingredients, Carrot & Oregano, are known to work in extreme conditions.

Active Ingredients:

Carrot Extract and Oregano, Micronized Titanium Dioxide, Avobenzone, Oxybenzone, Octinoxate and Bisoctrizole.

My Experience with Lotus Safe Sun Anti Tan Creme SPF 50:

Its a sun block creme, thick in consistency. I have oily skin, and trust me, when I saw its texture, I wanted to faint. I didn’t even want to imagine what a thick cream like this would do on my skin in the scorching summers of Lucknow. Still (pat on my back, really), I went ahead with it on a trial basis; and boy, was I amazed? You bet.

The consistency may be like a thick cream, but this sun block gets absorbed into the skin really deep, giving a cooling feeling, and then a matte effect. Its an SPF 50 PA+++, and trust me, most of these high-end sun blocks either leaves a white cast or does not get absorbed easily. This one completely bowled me over in all these aspects, its so comfortable on skin.  I don’t know about the skin lightening aspect (I don’t even care, I love my complexion), it really is an anti-tan sun block. I roamed around Delhi’s street markets in May, and did not get tanned even a bit. *happydance*

You can see how thick in consistency it actually is. Oily skinned people like me usually run far away from such a texture.  Also, as you can see, when freshly blended, it leaves a moisturizing film, which gets absorbed into the skin to give a matte, cooling finish in a minute. No white cast *happydance* *happydance*
