Lush African Paradise Body Conditioner Review

Hi friends,

Hope everyone at IMBB is having a beautiful day so far 🙂 I am writing a product review after quite some time as I had been travelling and then needed time to recover from the fact that it ended so fast 😛 As I was getting all set to travel, I bought a bunch of products to help combat the scorching sun (truth be told…. I just needed an excuse to shop). So, for the next few days, you would find me reviewing products, which helped me, survive the fun and tiring times of holidays!!

Lush African Paradise Body Conditioner

I had gone to Lush store to pick up Lush’s Celestial, one of my adored Lush products. But what harm would it do to throw in few more Lush goodies 😀 Why in the world would a lazy person like me add a shower smoothie. But wait…what is a shower smoothie?

Let us go ahead with the review and I will explain in complete detail.

Lush African Paradise Body Conditioner Packaging:
The shower smoothie is packaged in an environment-friendly black recycled plastic tub. It is a very sturdy tub as it survived the air travel without any spilling. The shower smoothie is light brown in color and has a very smooth silky texture. It has a very faint but gorgeous sweet floral fragrance. It is a self-preserving product, which implies that it comes without any preservatives. The majority of its ingredients are from the African continent.

My Experience with Lush African Paradise Body Conditioner:

So, let us find out what is a shower smoothie! Shower smoothie is a body conditioner, equivalent to hair conditioner. It needs to be applied after body wash and then rinsed off after it has been left on the skin for a few minutes. But who has got the time to do an extra step in the shower! The reason I picked it up was because it was extremely hot and I knew I would end up getting sun burnt, even after slathering all the sunscreen. Hence I needed something extra to help soothe my irritated skin.

Lush African Paradise Body Conditioner

I used this product almost every alternate day. After the body wash, the smoothie could be easily applied on the damp skin. I would take two scoops of the shower smoothie, which was sufficient for me. It is extremely lightweight and very easy to spread on the skin. Similar to hair conditioner, it should be left on the skin for a couple of minutes before rinsing off. The impatient person that I am, I never waited more than five minutes.

The shower smoothie gets rinsed very easily. However, even after rinsing, it leaves a very mild oily layer on the skin as it contains 8 different kinds of beneficial oils. I did not find it to be greasy on my skin. Even with the heat and humidity, it did not make my skin feel sticky. After towel drying, I found the oils got completely absorbed in my skin. In fact for my dry skin, it was a very soothing experience. As it was very warm, I skipped applying body lotion except for my hands and feet.

I used the shower smoothie usually in the evening as it felt like a mini-spa every time I used it. My skin felt hydrated from the presence of aloe vera and glycerin content in the shower smoothie. I found that the shower smoothie did help my tired and sun burnt skin.

While using this shower smoothie, I was almost tempted to leave it on as body lotion. However, these experiments would encompass more of a weekend project. I found the fragrance of the shower smoothie very adorable. It is very mild and stays on the skin after shower. Using this shower smoothie provided a very fresh feeling.

It contains mango juice to brighten the skin, which sparsely benefited my tanned skin. Overall, I have loved using this shower smoothie in summers. I am sure during the winters it would be a great add-on, as it would provide an additional hydration layer for my super-dry skin.
