Lush Angels on the Bare Skin & Eau Roma Water Review

A little about me -I am a ‘Youtube’ lover and follow some beauty gurus to get some ‘gyan’ on various beauty/ cosmetic products they use/ review.

I have seen many of them raving about Lush products. So one day while wandering in Select City walk I discovered “lush” store. The fragrance which pours out of the store pulled me inside and I had no choice but to go and grab some of the alluring products :)… ok let us cut it short.. For a change the SA who helped me in short-listing suitable products according to my skin type was bit educated on the Lush products and had helped me in zeroing on two of them. I have a deadly dry skin which looks wrinkled if doesn’t get pampered daily 🙁 She suggested a cleanser and a toner.

1. Cleanser – Angels on bare skin ( Rs 585 for 100 gm)

I really get excited with the way they name their products, they sound like riddle:) … okay so the product boasts of an angelic and medieval recipe. According to the website It’s an Angelic and medieval cleansing wash with rose and lavender. Angels on Bare Skin is the Lush version of an expensive medieval skincare recipe. Rare, precious essential oils were first brought to Europe by the crusaders who encountered Arabian medicine. They were immediately banned by the church because their ability to alter states of mind was considered the devil’s work! But the final result was Cosmetics 1, Church 0. Rose oil and lavender oil were discovered to do wonderful things for the skin, too. Almost a thousand years later you’d be hard pressed to find a better all round cleanser and exfoliator than Angels.

I am not too sure if the above story is true but the way it has been told it feels like you are going to try a magical stuff straight out of a Harry potter movie 🙂 ok I believe that’s enough of my blabber … now lets take a look at the Lush Angels on Bare Skin

Ingredients: Ground Almonds (Prunus dulcis), Glycerine, Kaolin, Water (Aqua), Lavender Oil (Lavandula hybrida), Rose Absolute (Rosa centifolia), Lavender Flowers (Lavendula hybrida), *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume. Lush products are expensive and have short shelf life so don’t stock it up.

Lush Angels on the Bare SKin

AOBS is a mild exfoliating cleanser that’s perfect for both sensitive skin and everyday use. If you’re new to Lush, this might be a little more adventurous product type (I hate the application part of it, it becomes very messy). It’s sort of a gummy roll of product, which you take a pea or two peas-sized dollops out of. You add a little water, and then rub it between your hands until it starts to break down into almost a paste consistency. Then you apply it like your usual cleanser–gentle, circular motions. Rinse, then pat your face dry, and you’re all done.

As you can see from the below image that only ¼ of the product is left. Even 100g of the product will last for about a month or two means Full paisa wasool 😉

Lush Angels on The Bare SKin Cleanser

I have been using this product for past 2 months and have seen good results. The product has lived up to its name so far results have been excellent. No acne no allergies no dryness but a smoother skin 🙂

After succeeding in selling AOBS to me SA advised me to buy a Toner also and recommended Eau Roma Water. I am not into Toners and didn’t use it before but thought of trying it and went ahead. She wanted to give a demo and asked me to close my eyes and sprayed the product on my face. I must say that the smell was incredibly great and was instantly refreshing.

Price : Rs 790 for 250 gm

Lush Eau Roma Water

Lush Eau Roma Water has:

Lavender Water, Rose Water, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume and Methylparaben.

I love this toner it refreshes my skin instantly. I have dry sensitive skin and this toner has worked perfectly for the dry patches I get during the winter months. It is very gentle, smells lovely, and the spritzer makes it easy to use. I just spray it directly on my face about two or three times and wipe off any excess product with a cotton pad. Lush says that the toner is great for dry to normal skin and I have to agree. It is very gentle and considering Eau Roma Water has only 6 ingredients, it works wonders! I am very impressed with it as normally I struggle to find a face-care product that works on my sensitive skin.

I am already through with the small bottle of 100g which I bought 2 months back as a tester and bought a new one.

Eau Roma Water

I hope this article has added some value. I will try on some products from body shop which I have recently purchased and post the reviews soon. Till then bbye take care and stay happy …

  1. Have you tried Ocean Salt before? I didnt like it much on its own…but now I love the combo 😀 There are these blue crystals on top in Ocean salt…..I find them too coarse and unnecessary so instead of mixing them into the scrub as recommended by Lush, I just discard them. The rest of the scrub has pretty much even texture.

  2. I have used Lush Angels on the bare skin in past and used to love it a lot. I think they have increased the expiry date to 6 months now. Last year it used to be 3 months and i could never finish it up… 🙁

    Welcome to IMBB. :))

  3. Looks good Shalini! I’m just curious as to why she gave you a scrub that controls oil for your dry skin…that seems like something I’d buy for my oil field of a face ?:)

That toner looks great! Enjoy your products!

    1. Y’know…you are right.
I just read the ingredients – almonds, glycerin, lavender oil…they’re all pretty hydrating…makes sense.
Lush makes it sound so simple, I gotta start making my own stuff. I just need some dark containers and a whole lotta elbow grease!

      1. 😛 😛 Morning. 😀

Plus they portray themselves as all natural brand they are not. A lot of time you’d find chemicals in their products. The so called ” all fresh cosmetics” is actually not true…

        1. I was reading up on “natural” cosmetics, and they can only last 3-6 weeks at the most. It’s obvious they’re putting something in there…Btw…these does LUSH stores in India make their own stuff or is it imported? I was always curious!

I bought some Korres stuff today…soooo good! All smells like roses and it’s all natural!
And morning to you! 😀 Am ready to hit the sack :X-P: and miss all the fun that will take place here 🙁

          1. oh!! Night night then may be. 😀 😀

You know the expiry date of lush angels on bare skin was 3 months last year and now it is 6 months..how is that possible..there has been some changes made in the ingredients. no?

            1. No idea..I think it lasted 6 months only earlier also…they just put a shorter shelf life on the label…you know different countries have different rules for what is labelled as expiry or best before. I have tried their fresh face mask in US..and the one I got had a shelf life of 2 weeks and promptly sprouted growth in it after that. There they get it prepacked in black tubs and are smaller quantities, so I figured its because of the transport and everything, it has a shorter shelf life. What I get here stays much longer than 1 month…so it also depends on the storage – and they make it here only..like Bangalore Lush sells fresh face masks made in Bangalore, so it should stay longer na.

              1. oh bt then they should mention na that they put a shorter shelf life on label. I din’t use after the mentioned shelf life although i felt that the product was just fine since I had stored it in the fridge :pissedoff:

                Sprouted growth

        1. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…besides I hate hate hate herbalism…is green pooopy thing that my sister loves…and she says its perfect for UK..not India!
