Lush Coal Face Cleanser Review
Hi All!

Today, I will be reviewing Coalface from Lush. I have read a lot about Coalface and decided to get it to treat my oily skin. Let’s see how it worked for me:
Price:

655/- INR for 100 gm.
Ingredients:
My Take on Lush Coal Face Cleanser:
Coalface from Lush is a black soap that looks like coal. Coal/Carbon/Charcoal were always related to oily skin. There are face washes that contain charcoal; soaps and facial cleansers that supposedly work wonders on controlling oil on the skin. Coalface does a great job in controlling oil too. It has exfoliating particles which are present on top of the soap in a little layer. I thought that the exfoliating particles would be there throughout the soap and used all that was there on the top layer in the first week and I was left with none of those particles thereafter.
The exfoliating particles at first might seem a little abrasive on the skin, but they actually do a great job in removing all the dirt and making the skin oil free. When I talk about Coalface removing oil from the skin, it is not the natural oils essential to the skin, but only the excess oils. The soap also claims to have oils that soothe the skin and cleanse at the same time.
The soap lathers extremely well. My skin doesn’t oil as much as it used to before. I used to have the shiny sheen on my face 2 hours after washing and now I can say it has reduced to about 70%. I feel the need to use a moisturiser as soon as I pat dry my face. This is clearly not for dry skin as it will dry out that type of skin. This soap does not melt away like most soaps from Lush and hence I don’t need to take any extra care of it.
As this soap is for the face, 100 g of the soap will last for ages. It has a shelf life of 3 months, but I doubt if I will be able to finish it by then.
Pros of Lush Coal Face Cleanser:
- Controls oil to a great extent.
- Exfoliating particles do a great job.
- Cleanses the skin thoroughly, but does not strip the skin of its natural oils.
- Face is not shiny for a long time.
- Lathers very well.
- Lush doesn’t test on animals.
- Lasts for long.
Cons of Lush Coal Face Cleanser:
- Pricey.
- There is just one little layer where the exfoliating particles are present. The rest of the soap has none.
Verdict on Lush Coal Face Cleanser:
I am so impressed with this soap. What else would I need? It helps my oily skin to get super clean and I don’t find my skin shiny for at least 6 hours. It is such a “yay” from my side and I would buy this forever and ever. The only problem is that there is not much of the exfoliating particles in the soap, which do a great job, but otherwise, I love it! Go grab it if you have oily-skin!

hey, one soap will last you more than 3 months?? like you said: It has a shelf life of 3 months, but I doubt if I will be able to finish it by then.
super-awesome in that case…and would be so affordable too, if it lasts more than 3 months… i’ll definitely buy it in that case!
Yes! ‘Cause most of us are working or studying so we don’t really find time to wash our face more than thrice in a day. I wash my face thrice on an average and it’s been a month that I got this..I am not done with it at all! :O
