Lush Jason and The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar Review

Hi friends,

Along with Lush’s Copperhead, I had picked up another delicious smelling shampoo bar, Lush’s Jason and The Argan Oil. This shampoo bar looked very similar to Lush’s New shampoo bar.  Nevertheless, one whiff of this product just swept me off my feet as I was completely transported to a rose garden.

Lush Jason and The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar Packaging:
The shampoo bar is shaped like a macaroon with an eye-catching candy pink color. It smells distinctly of the roses as it contains rose extracts. Instead of being entirely floral fragrance, it has a mild citrusy fragrance in it as well. There was no outer packaging for the shampoo bar.

Price:
$9.95 for 1.9 oz.

My Experience with Lush Jason and The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar:

The shampoo bar foams easily on the wet hair. I usually apply 3-4 swipes on my hair and then lather it. I found that in spite of my heavily oiled hair, the shampoo lathered well. I usually use the shampoo bar twice as I do not find my hair completely clean in the first rinse itself. However, once my hair was all dry, it felt very clean. The shampoo bar removes dirt and oil nicely from the scalp and the hair.

The shampoo bar contains argan oil along with glycerin and agar for providing softness to the hair. I noticed that my hair did not feel straw like once they were completely dry. I did apply hair conditioner afterwards to my shampooed hair, but overall, my hair felt very soft to touch and much better tamed.

There was no negative change in my hair color, which was a really good point for me. One thing I did not observe is the shine in my hair as the product claimed. Also though I did not find any major hair fall while using this shampoo bar, I am not sure if it made my hair any stronger. It could also be due to my hair, which is brittle in nature.

To say that I love this shampoo bar’s fragrance is an understatement 😛 I like rose fragrances and this factor attracted me towards this shampoo bar. Though it does not have a floral fragrance entirely. The presence of lemon oil provides a mild citrusy fragrance as well. I did not find the fragrance very overpowering. After I apply the conditioner, the fragrance of the shampoo bar is hardly noticeable.

Lush Jason and The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar

This shampoo bar comes with similar disadvantages that I faced with Lush’s Copper head. It was already flaking even before I started using it. It dissolves a lot when used under shower. Hence I have to keep it covered in soap box all the time. I am not sure if it would last me 80 washes. I like this shampoo bar just for its cute look and gorgeous fragrance.

Pros of Lush Jason and The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar:

  • Cute macaroon-shaped shampoo bar for cleaning dirt and oil from the scalp.
  • Contains argan oil, glycerin and agar to provide softness to hair.
  • Lathers well.
  • Did not affect the hair color.
  • Has an amazing rose and lemony fragrance.
  • Does not have an overpowering fragrance, as it does not linger on hair for long after conditioner.
  • As it is a solid shampoo bar, it is easy to carry during travels.

Cons of Lush Jason and The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar:

  • May not be appealing if averse to rose fragrance.
  • Pricey.
  • Has to be kept in a soap box as it dissolves fast.
  • Contains sodium lauryl sulfate.
  • Dry hair type might need conditioner after using this shampoo bar.
  • Did not notice significant shine and tensile strength in hair as claimed by the product.
  • Not convinced about the product’s claim of lasting 80 washes as it crumbles a lot.

Would I Repurchase Lush Jason and The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar?
I think I would buy this shampoo bar just for its amazing fragrance though not for its utility. In comparison, I would prefer Dove shampoos as they work equally well for my hair.
