Lush Karma Komba Solid Shampoo Review

Hello Ladies,

Are you all splurging on the sale. I’m sad that I couldn’t take much advantage of it due to lack of time. I wish I could do a bit of shopping before the sale ends :). Let’s talk about the product under review today. It is the LUSH Karma Komba Solid Shampoo Bar.

About the product :
Calm, fragrant hair and scalp and fewer tangles. Karma Komba is the shampoo bar to calm hair that keeps starting fights with itself and ends up in tangles. (Use Jungle solid conditioner, too.) We scent it with our beautifully calming but mentally elevating Karma fragrance. It has toning orange oil plus pine and patchouli to help keep your scalp soothed and free of the problematic microbes. Use Karma Komba to keep everything nice and calm, especially your hair.

• Lovely lavendin: Used in our entire Karma range, lavendin is soothing, calming, and works to calm the emotions.

My experience with Lush Karma Komba Solid Shampoo Bar :

I was running out of my TBS shampoo and was waiting to pick some forest essential shampoo. But again, the store is pretty far from where I stay and did not find time to make a trip to FE store.

Lush Karma Komba shampoo review

I managed to rush into a lush store during my recent visit to a mall to watch a movie. I have used the lush “Ultimate Shine” shampoo and quite liked it. I was sniffing all the solid shampoo bars. The Karma Komba shampoo smelled so divine that I had to pick it up.

I came home and cut the shampoo into two, kept one half in my cupboard for later use and kept the other half in the bathroom. The shampoo bar managed to spread the smell throughout my cupboard and also my bathroom.

I was so expecting the same kind of smell from my hair after I wash my hair . But to my disappointment, it didn’t leave any explicit karma fragrance on my tresses 🙁

Though the reason for picking the shampoo was not served, I liked the shampoo a little better than the Ultimate shine shampoo. It lathered pretty well. Left my hair squeaky clean no matter I had applied oil or not (thanks to the SLS content). And it did not dry out my already dry hair.

My hair felt and looked good for next 3 days straight. I didn’t feel the need to shampoo my hair for 3-4 days. And I did not face any dry scalp problem, which I used to with some shampoos.

I always comb my hair before washing so I generally don’t have much problem in detangling after wash. So can’t comment much about the detangling part of it.

Pros:
1. Travel friendly, easy to use.
2. Quite economical. Would last for at least 2-3 months with both me and my husband using it.
3. Makes my bathroom and cupboard smell good 🙂
4. Cleans oiled hair efficiently.
5. Does not dry out my hair completely, though I need to follow it up with conditioner.

Cons:
1. Does not leave detectable fragrance on hair after washing. Nothing major apart from that.

Overall I quite liked the Karma Komba shampoo and would recommend you to give it a try if you want to try any lush solid shampoo.

      1. going by the size, I thought it would only last 4-5 times… but 35-40 washes?? sounds quite pocket friendly that way! thanks for reviewing:)
yet to try a solid shampoo…. this may be my first!

  1. Solid shampoo… I yet to try one.
And this one looks very nice. will you suggest this for dry, frizzy curly hair Karpagam?
    Does it make hair soft?

    1. I have dry frizzy hair too sweta. This one did not give any extra softness, but did not dry out my hair further. So with a good conditioner you can use this.

  2. The yellow thing looks cute.. is it a dried flower..
i am also yet to use the solid shampoo, is it available online..
    good review karpagam 🙂

  3. Nice review Karpagam..i’ve also used the ultimate shine n liked it…but as u mentioned u like this one better..will try it..i also like the green color of the solid shampoo 🙂
