Lush Karma Kream Hand and Body Lotion Review

Lush Karma Kream Hand and Body Lotion Review

By Monica S.

Hello Wonderful Ladies! 🙂

I have been reading IMBB for almost a year-and-half now. More like silently stalking, too shy to comment or post anything of my own. I am a student and just start started experimenting with different kinds of makeup and this blog has been of great help. So, now I think, its my turn to share a review with all of you here. Hope you find it useful.

When I went to India on a holiday in May, I spotted the Lush store in Express Avenue Mall, Chennai and literally screamed with excitement. I had developed sort of a crush on Lush after reading so many fabulous reviews on their products, but I never had the chance to visit the Lush store in Singapore. So, when I accidentally spotted the store, I was so delighted.

Lush Karma Kream Hand and Body Lotion Review

I am a huge fan of body lotions and body butters and I knew I wasn’t going home without a pot of Lush body lotion. After much sniffing and testing, I settled on the Lush Karma Kream.

Product Description:

Smooth on our signature scent in a skin soothing kream. Our orange flower and patchouli oil body lotion packs good Karma into one Kreamy pot. We created our Karma Kream to capture our best-selling signature perfume in a calming body lotion, so Karma fans and converts can layer good Karma from head to toe. Smooth it all over your body for unbelievable spicy, citrusy fragrance and skin-soothing kindness that will repay itself two fold. It’s a rich, almond oil-based cream with blended with the finest Fair Trade cocoa butter to soften and balance dry skin while orange oil helps to brighten your skin tone.

My Experience with Lush Karma Kream Hand and Body Lotion:

Well to be frank, I feel that my skin has moods of its own. Sometimes, its dry and sometimes its miraculously smooth and supple without even moisturizing. It also tends to get oily when I use certain lotions, but this Lush Karma Kream worked fabulously on my skin. Its consistency is neither runny or thick. It is easily spreadable. At first, the texture felt a little funny to me after having used the thick Body Shop body butters regularly, but I got used to it and now I am loving it. This gets absorbed into my skin instantly and it feels like you haven’t applied anything on the skin at all. Its like magic, I tell you 🙂

Now, the smell of this lotion is probably the most unique aspect of this lotion. You will either hate it or love it. It smells citrusy and orangey and almost spicy, very comforting. The SA told me it was the characteristic smell of patchouli. When I first bought it, I loved the fragrance, it was exotic and very different from any of the perfumes or body lotions I own. But I know some people who absolutely hated the fragrance at first sniff, so much so that I had to stop using the lotion and give it to my mom instead. The fragrance lingers for almost the whole day and I found that the smell rubs off on to my clothes, and I hated that. 🙁

I love all the little details that they provide, like whom the product was made by (its handmade) and the exact date it was made. Mine is made by some guy called Kris on 26th March. I don’t know how this information is useful, but I feel kind of good knowing that 😛 and I am such a sucker for companies that have a “feel-good” value and I always fall for companies that market their social responsibility. Lush is no exception, its doing a great deal of things to encourage recycling, its vegan and it fights animal testing. I can go on, but I don’t want to sound like the SA 😛

Pros of Lush Karma Kream Hand and Body Lotion:

  • Light, gets absorbed instantly.
  • Leaves skin soft and supple.
  • Fragrance lingers for very long without layering ( its only a pro if you like the fragrance).
  • Many ‘feel-good’ factors.

Cons of Lush Karma Kream Hand and Body Lotion:

  • Price.
  • Not everyone likes the fragrance

Overall, this is a great lotion for all skin types as it is light and moistures really well, but get it if and only if you, and those around you like the fragrance!

Its great but I would not repurchase this as I want to try the other lotions from Lush.
