Lush MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment Review

Even though, I haven’t tried many products by Lush, whenever I pass by their store, I am amazed by their range of bath products.  They are really unique names and fragrances.  Some are bath melts, some are bath bombs.  I am more of a shower person these days, as the bath tub in my apartment is not big or sophisticated enough for my liking; I think I’m too tall for it. However, once in a while, especially in winters, there is nothing to beat a warm bath. So, I do have my tiny selection of bath salts, mostly from the brand “MOR” which is an Australian brand. However, I really love marshmallow fragrance and I did have marshmallow fragrance bath soak from “MOR.”  Unfortunately, they discontinued it.  So, as soon as I saw this “marshmallow melt” in a cute pink colour, I was sold. However, I was shocked to learn that it was $8.95 per 100 gm.

When I asked the SA , whether I have to spend $8.95 on a single time bath, she said I can cut it into two and use it twice; however, to get the full benefit, I would have to use it once.  So, I bought it anyway, since compared to my other skincare stock, I have way too little bath products.

Marshmallow

Product Description:

Slow melting musky marshmallow marvel. MMM melts into a pink, fluffy waterbed of marshmallow and moisturizing cocoa butter. Each Melting Marshmallow Moment is made with marshmallow herb, which produces a sweet, skin-soothing mucilage that was used to make sugar candies for hundreds of years, and marigold, which is equally calming for your skin. Take your time, savour each moment and have as many marshmallows as you like.

Ingredients List:

Sodium Bicarbonate (Sodium Bicarbonate), Citric Acid (Citric Acid), Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Laureth 4 (Laureth 4), Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Water (Aqua), Chamomile Powder (Anthemis nobilis), Marshmallow Powder (Althaea officinalis), Marigold Powder (Calendula Officinalis), Synthetic Musk (Synthetic Musk), *Benzyl Benzoate (*Benzyl Benzoate), Perfume (Perfume), Colour 14700 (Colour 14700), Colour 45410 (Colour 45410), Colour 17200 (Colour 17200).

Directions For Use:

According to the SA, for a full tub of warm water, I need one such cube to get the truly amazing “enveloped by marshmallows” feeling. However, if I wanted to extend the use of my $$, I can cut it into two and use it twice. I selected the latter.

My Experience with Lush MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment:

For me , the main reason for buying this was the marshmallow scent. It is difficult to buy products with this fragrance, even though “ MOR” had some amazing products. I have to check them out again. I brought this home and after anticipating if I should use it once or twice, I decided to use it twice. I filled my bathtub (I don’t like my bathtub, but I have to be satisfied with what I have right ? besides it is a rented apartment, when I buy a house, the first thing I’ll look at is the bath tub).  I used half of it, as shown in the picture below, and lowered it into a full bath of warm water.

bath bomb

As soon as it touched the water, it circled a bit and let out bubbles while dissolving, was quite an interesting sight.  I wanted it to fully dissolve before getting into the bath.  It dissolved pretty well, but it did not make the water thick and frothy as I expected and I know why.  If I had used the whole product, it would have looked milkier and thick.  Nevertheless, this is how it looked while dissolving.

bath salt

As soon as I got into the bath, the smell was wonderful, just as I expected, and soothing.  I spent a good 15 minutes and after having a quick shower (just plain water), my skin felt moisturised. It did not feel well moisturised, like after using a lotion, but it was more like I have used a moisturising shower cream. Skin smelt wonderful for at least 2 hours. My only worry is I should have saved it up for a special occasion and used the whole product once, and it would have given a much more full and “super duper” marshmallow experience.

Tip:  If you plan to buy this, please use this at one go.  If you think the price is steep for one use, it is better to buy any of the lower-priced bath bombs from Lush.

Pros of Lush MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment:

  • Most importantly, awesome marshmallow scent.  If you like marshmallow fragrances , please try it.
  • Unique bath product, dissolves well without any residue.
  • Soothing aroma, good for relaxing after a long day.
  • Contains moisturising and soothing ingredients such as cocoa butter, chamomile, Almond oil, marshmallow extract, Marigold powder.

Cons of Lush MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment:

  • Price is steep for a one-time use product.
  • A bath tub is needed to use this product and not everyone will have a bath tub as it is not a necessity.

IMBB Rating:

4/5.

Will I Repurchase Lush MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment?

No I won’t, but not because I wasn’t satisfied with it, only because this is just a one-off indulgence. For regular use, I might get bath salts from “MOR.”
