Lush Retread Conditioner Review

Lush Retread Conditioner

Hi all! Today I am going to review the LUSH retread hair conditioner.
lush retread conditioner
I basically have dry, frizzy and difficult to manage curly hair. Of late my hair started becoming extremely dry. And I could not apply oil as oiling gave me drastic increase in hair fall  At a point when I did not know how to moisturize my hair (conditioners were not working), I headed to LUSH and told the SA my problem and she gave me a pot of Retread! I smelt it and I dint like the smell much. I wanted to get the American conditioner, but the moment she mentioned that it is the perfect product for dry, frizzy and split hair and it is a triple strength conditioner, (those were the words needed to convince me), I took the product and headed for billing.

What LUSH claims? As with so many LUSH products, Retread appears to resemble a cholesterol-laden pudding. It is scented with violets and oranges with a hint of sensual musk.

Retread is a super-smoothing cream with seaweed, yoghurt, cantaloupe melon and jojoba oil to give seriously sad hair its shine back. Use it when your hair is feeling rough, harsh and wrecked. Retread will restore its sanity and get it under control.
Price : Rs.1300 for 225gms.

My take on the product: It looks exactly like thick curd (and it does have curd in it!) I could not wait to try it out, so i took 2 spoons of retread in a bowl (went off to wash my hair as soon as I finished shopping ;p) and applied it on my shampooed and squeezed hair and left it for about 10 minutes and then washed it off. The product was pretty runny and I was a bit disappointed as I had expected it to be creamy. But I dint want to jump to any conclusions and went ahead. While applying, i dint like the fresh smell of the conditioner, but once out of shower the smell lingered all day long (it subsided to a mild tolerable smell) and my hair was easy to detangle and soft (when my hair was wet). When my hair dried, it was conditioned and frizz free, that too after just one use. In fact my hair was conditioned till my next wash which was after 3 days. I did not feel the need to apply oil or serum (I usually apply leave in serum on to my wet hair) at all! It does bring back the shine (but I have noticed only a little though, my hair being extremely dull and lifeless even a little shine is a plus ) This conditioner adds life to my hair, makes my hair manageable and am totally in love with this conditioner. Let us get to the pros and cons.
Doesn’t it look like curd?

Pros of Lush Retread Conditioner

1. Excellent for dry hair and softens hair instantly – does what it claims!
2. Conditions hair and prevents split ends.
3. The smell stays on the whole day (this is a pro if you like the smell, else a con 😉 for me, I ve grown to like the smell!)
4. The product lasts for at least 4 to 5 months. (that is what the SA told me)

Cons of Lush Retread Conditioner

1. Expensive.
2. Has SLS (aren’t LUSH products supposed to be free from harmful chemicals?)

The smell might be a con if you don’t like it. I could not find any other negatives. All in all, I would say that this is a savior for me.

My rating: 4.2/5

Do I recommend this? Definitely! For ladies with dry and frizzy hair.

  3. Wooohhhh my hair is a little frizzy too :waaa: ..I was thinking of getting the American conditioner  ..would you suggest this over that one? And great review! :jiggy1:

  4. Go for this if you have severe split ends and extreme dryness. Or else you can go for american conditioner. Retread is triple strength conditioner whereas AC is double strength conditioner. Thanks a lot :puchhi: :puchhi:
