Lux Scarlet Blossom Body Wash Review

Lux Scarlet Blossom Body Wash Review

Hi Everyone,

Today, I am going to review a body wash by Lux. It was again an impulsive buy. I love to change fragrances often and I get bored of using the same body wash. Hence, I got this one for myself. Let’s take a detailed review of the same.

Lux Scarlet Blossom Body Wash Review

Product Being Reviewed:

Lux Scarlet Blossom Body Wash.

Product Description:

A finely fragranced body wash infused with the smell of Egyptian violet and elemi oil. This scent is inspired by the exotic blossoms at the peak of their bloom and embraced into exquisite fragranced pearls giving you a mesmerizing scent that lingers long after you step out of the shower.

Price/ Packaging/Quantity:

INR 55 for 125 ml. It comes as a curvaceous, sturdy, plastic bottle with a flip cap. The cap does not click shut and hence it is not a good option to carry while travelling, even the hinges do not hold the cover securely.

Scarlet Blossom

My Take on Lux Scarlet Blossom Body Wash:

It comes as a peach-red coloured liquid. I loved the colour at the first instance only ( I actually want a lipstick in this shade).  The consistency is on the thicker side, but as such there is no problem while spreading the same on the body. It spreads smoothly and lathers well while using a loofah, a generous amount needs to be poured for it to lather well.  Though it gave a clean feeling, but it feels heavy on my skin. Also, it made my skin dry. I had to moisturise heavily even during summers. I avoid soaps as they make my skin dry, but I was amazed to find a body wash making my skin dry, needless to add that my skin did not feel soft or smooth.

The pack says that the main ingredient is some Egyptian flower, but the fragrance as such is quite overpowering and those with sensitive noses shall not like the same. The smell lingers for half an hour or so after bath, obviously not as strong as it is while bathing.

Final Verdict:

A budget buy but fails to deliver. Might work if you massage your body with oil prior to a bath and since it feels heavy, it is advisable to use it in winters.

Summing up the pros and cons:

Pros of Lux Scarlet Blossom Body Wash:

  • Reasonably priced and easily available.
  • The colour of the body wash liquid is very pretty.
  • Lathers well though generous quantity is required for that to happen.

Cons of Lux Scarlet Blossom Body Wash:

  • The packaging needs to be worked upon, mainly the cap, it is quite flimsy.
  • It contains Sodium Laureth Sulphate.
  • Made my skin dry and heavy moisturisation was needed post bath.
  • Fragrance is overpowering.
  • Feels heavy on the skin

Will I Repurchase Lux Scarlet Blossom Body Wash?

No, I shall not do so.
