MAC Ambrosial Liptensity Lipstick Review

Last month MAC came out with their new lipstick range called Liptensity. Honestly, at first, I was not interested in any of the colours, but after reading so many good reviews about it, I wanted to see for myself that what was all the hype about. I went ahead and picked two shades – “Smoked Almond” and “Ambrosial.” And trust me, I don’t own any other shade like this one 😛

Product Description:
A brilliant formula that pushes the boundaries of colour. Each Lipstick holds intense amounts of pigment, resulting in extreme colour intensity, clarity and vibrancy. This luxurious gelled base melts on contact, providing fully saturated colour with a satin finish in one stroke. Gel formula glides on smoothly. Long-wearing, eight hours. Comfortable formula.

My Experience with MAC Ambrosial Liptensity Lipstick:

Thank you MAC for letting us see a packaging which won’t cause much confusion . ? For the first time, MAC has come up with a packaging so different from their traditional lipstick case. The liptensity range has colour coordinating caps and slanted bullet shape, exactly like their Huggable lipstick formula. Like any other MAC lipstick, it has a vanilla scent to it. The bottom tube is black with MAC printed on it and half of the tube is the same color as the bullet. The name of the shade is printed at the bottom of the tube.

The idea behind Liptensity formula was to offer comfort and hydration of a lip balm and intensity of a lip colour. The liptensity super saturated colour payoff with creamy texture. It offers opaque coverage in one swipe. When I first applied it to my lips, I was in love with the formulation.

This applies so smoothly and glides on like butter on the lips. I didn’t notice any feathering around my lips. The shade range is huge, they offer 24 shades including neutral, reds, pinks, purples, blue and even a black. There is something for everyone.

“Ambrosial” is a purple-pink shade which is quite unique in my collection. Ambrosial looks quite purple in the tube, but on the lips, it pulls more pink than purple. It’s bold but totally wearable in both day and night time. I think it would suit any skin tone. When I apply, I notice that it dries down to a semi-matte finish with slight sheen.

This formula makes your lips look plump and beautiful. It does not cling on to any dry patches of the lips and feels very comfortable and hydrating on the lips. The best part of the liptensity is the wear time. Ambrosial lasts 6.5 hours on me after drinking and leaves a beautiful pink stain after it wears off completely. The only drawback of this range is the shade of bullet since it has a no pointed tip that means sacrificing a bit of precision. Rest, I absolutely love this lipstick and I am totally planning on picking up more shades.
