I have been longing for MAC kohls for quite some time. While I had a few of the shades on my mind, I was attracted by the name of this kohl pencil and that’s why I finally picked up “Black Walnut.”

My Experience with MAC Black Walnut Modern Twist Kajal Liner:
MAC Modern Twist Kajal Liner Black Walnut comes in a twist type of plastic packaging. While with many of the twist pencils out there, the tip can be twisted back, MAC’s Black Walnut does not have the same mechanism. So, one needs to be careful while bringing out the product. Also one needs to be careful to put the cap back immediately after use so that the tip does not dry off. For people who are not used to twist-up pencils, there is a high possibility of product wastage.
MAC Modern Twist Kajal Liner Black Walnut is not jet black, but as the name suggests, is brownish black. While a single stroke on the waterline gives a light black line, with two three strokes of the pencil, it looks dark black and thus it didn’t matter much to me. Since my eyelids are oily, I do not use the kajal liner on the eyelids, but if you normal eyelids, you can do so. The main intent to pick this kohl from MAC was in the hope of getting a long lasting and smudge-proof kohl for the water line – which Black Walnut does. This kajal needs to be set for a few seconds on application. The kajal stays on easily for 2 to 3 hours intact after which it fades away, though to remove it completely, you have to use an eye makeup remover.
The kajal pencil has a creamy, semi-matte texture which makes the application on the waterline easier. The formula sets almost immediately and becomes smudge proof. MAC Modern Twist Kajal Liner Black Walnut is a decent pencil from MAC but for people who are expecting a very long-lasting liner/kajal should give this a skip.
