Today, I am going to review MAC Bronzing Powder in the shade “Refined Golden.” It was gifted to me on my birthday. Firstly, I never knew how to use a bronzer, neither was a fan of bronzers, so when I got my hands on it, I was nervous and excited to use it 🙂
A powder that gives skin sheer, natural color and bronzes the face. A subtly tinted powder that gives skin sheer, natural color effects and highlights. Perfect for enhancing skin tone, providing a natural, sun-kissed look or accentuating a tan. Formulated to provide a smooth, even application on all skin types.
My Experience with MAC Bronzing Powder Refined Golden:
It comes in a black round case, typical of all MAC products. The packaging is pretty sturdy and travel friendly. It does have a mirror.
As I have mentioned before, I was never a fan of bronzers and then when I opened the case, it had shimmery particles in it. As I am not a fan of shimmery makeup, I thought twice whether I should apply it on my face. “Refined Golden” is a bronzer that looks brown with orange undertones. The only thing that bothered me about this bronzer was the shimmer, but it is not chalky at all and glides smoothly on the skin.
This bronzer gives me a “sun-kissed” look. The color is such that it would look good on all skin tones. The shimmer in it wouldn’t bother much once you apply it on your face. The shimmer in this bronzer is finely milled and does not accentuate facial pores.
I can use this bronzer for contouring as well, in fact, I use a contouring brush to apply. Since this powder is intensely pigmented, using your finger tips isn’t not ideal since the bronzer wouldn’t transfer onto your skin from your finger tips. This product applies evenly but you need to build it up two to three times for the color to show prominently on the skin. There’s no discernible fragrance as such. I have breakout-prone skin but this bronzing powder did not accentuate any breakouts.
Coming to the staying power, it’s around 3 to 4 hours on top of makeup.
Pros of MAC Bronzing Powder Refined Golden:
- Goes well with all skin tones.
- Travel friendly.
- Has a mirror.
- Imparts a sun-kissed look as it claims.
Cons of MAC Bronzing Powder Refined Golden:
- A bit pricey.
- A bit shimmery.
- Packaging is quite normal.
Would I Repurchase MAC Bronzing Powder Refined Golden?
It’s a bit pricey and one bronzer will last a very long time. I would have repurchased it if it was not shimmery.
