My Experience with MAC Chromagraphic Pencil Landscape Green:

I never really thought I would wear a bright-colored eyeliner until I picked up this baby! I was looking at blues, but my sister said I should try this one instead, and I fell in love with it! The Chromographic pencil is not so much an eyeliner as it is a multipurpose pencil. You can find this at a MAC pro store or even online. In my experience, MAC outlets that aren’t pro stores usually keep this in limited stock.

Packaging: The packaging is the standard MAC charcoal black body with the color of the shade at the bottom and the cap is the same as the lip liners.

Color: “Landscape Green” is exactly what the name sounds like. It’s that bright true green you imagine the trees to look like in an Amazon forest or something. I love that it’s nowhere near too bright or fluorescent. It’s a perfectly wearable shade for college, brunch, or Saturday night-outs. Might be too bright for workplace though depending on your work environment.

Texture: The texture is a bit hard to blend but that’s kind of why I liked this more than another green eye pencil that the MAC artist showed to me. She said the other one was more useful to wear under eyeshadow, but since I wanted to wear this by itself, it made sense for it to be a bit rough. However, it’s not uncomfortable to apply, it goes on rather smoothly and won’t tug on your eyelids as such. The pencil is easily breakable when you sharpen it, so it’s best to be careful.

Pigmentation:  The pigmentation is really good actually. I have had some bad experiences with coloured eyeliners where I have to apply the product two or three times to achieve a nice colour, but this one has such strong pigmentation in a single swipe.

Staying Power:  Like I wrote before, the pencil is not easy to smudge, but if you rub or eyes or sweat a lot, it’s likely to wear off in three hours. If not, the liner stays on for a good 5 hours after which it starts to fade a little. The colour becomes less intense and that is not a good look, so if you are going to be out for long hours, it’s advisable to carry this in your purse and just touch up when the colour gets dull.

Pros of MAC Chromagraphic Pencil Landscape Green:

  • Great colour.
  • Strong pigmentation.

Cons of MAC Chromagraphic Pencil Landscape Green:

  • Looks sickly when faded.
  • Point breaks off while sharpening really easily.

Overall, I like this product. I don’t mind carrying it around to touch up and it’s an easy way to add a pop of colour to your makeup and look chic without really doing much. I would definitely go ahead and buy it again.
