Today, I will be reviewing a lipstick from MAC. It is called “Craving.” This is my very first lipstick from MAC. I hesitated a lot before going to MAC for lipsticks, but when I tried, I must say, I loved them. I am more into pink, plums and reddish browns. I feel comfortable in such colors. So, I chose a safe color that I knew I would love. Read on to see how I feel about the color:
I like lipsticks that are moisturizing. I stay away from matte lipsticks; I don’t like the feel on the lips. I had tried this lipstick on my wrist and not on the lips, so I was not sure of the finish, but this one has not disappointed me at all.
MAC describes this as a “burst of plum,” but it is more of a pink-plumy color (don’t know if that makes any sense). This color would suit most of us. It gives a nice radiance and color to the face. Light eye makeup with this lipstick would look fabulous. I usually apply a thin eye liner or a little mascara to complete the look. If you wish, you may also apply a gloss to give more shine and health to the lips. I think if you apply this with light hands, it can be a pretty light plum color and just add gloss to it. Some people say that Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick has a dupe for this, I don’t have that color, so can’t swatch it for you guys, but I must say, I have tried other shades from the same collection, and there is a huge difference in the staying power and pigmentation.
It is an amplified creme, which is by far the best finish by MAC. It is pigmented and opaque. These lipsticks are very moisturizing and give a decent shine to the lips. This finish glides on the lips like butter. I totally love the texture of amplified crème finishes. It has a yummy vanilla scent that I love on my lips. I am dying to try other lipsticks from the amplified creme finish.
MAC provides high-quality lipsticks that no doubt last for a long time. They can also survive drinks and food. If you remove it using cotton, you would still have the stains of the lipstick on your lips. This one is no exception. I never used a makeup remover to take off the lipstick. Whatever lipstick I have used from other brands, they used to go off easily after 2-3 hours maximum, but I loved the staying power of this lipstick as I really needed something that would stay for a long time on my lips without touchups. With this one, no touch up!
What I Like about MAC Craving Lipstick:
- Very pigmented.
- Long staying power.
- Smooth application.
- Yummy scent.
- Creamy texture.
- Nice opaque coverage.
- Does not get into fine lines.
- Would suit most of the skin tones.
What I Do Not Like about MAC Craving Lipstick:
The only thing that I really miss in MAC lipsticks is that they should have some kind of color labeling on the lipstick so it is easy to find out the color. Otherwise, nothing!
Would I Repurchase MAC Craving Lipstick?
Yes, it is one of my staple lip colors! Overall, it is a beautiful plum color that I totally adore. This a permanent color in my makeup collection. It is a pinky plum color that is so moisturizing and stays for a long time and goes very well with my skin tone. I highly recommend this lip color.
