Hi lovely ladies,
Hope you are all having a great weekend. Today, I am going to do a quick review on one the prettiest neutral colors that is perfect for Indian skin tones – MAC Crème in your Coffee. I feel every girl should own a perfect neutral shade that can be used for work or while doing a night-time smokey eye look. Bright lip shades are sexy while neutral shades are classy 🙂
MAC describes this color as a mid-tone pinkish brown. This lipstick belongs to their Cremesheen line.
My Take on MAC Cremesheen Creme in Your Coffee Lipstick:
I love my neutral colors for work or when I’m not in a mood to carry a bold or bright lip shade. I’m always on a hunt for perfect n*de shades that don’t look like a concealer on my lips. A hint of pink and brown is perfect for my lips but better.
I swatched this shade in the MAC store and immediately decided to pick it up as MAC can never go wrong with their shades and especially since this is a Cremesheen, it won’t dry out my lips.
Packaging: This comes in the standard MAC packaging, which I’m sure every makeup lover must already know.
Fragrance: It has the typical MAC sweet vanilla fragrance to the lipstick.
Color: A perfect MLBB color for medium skin tones. It is a mid-tone pinkish brown lipstick more on the pinker side. It seems to be a versatile color and looks different based on the pigmentation of the lips. Since my lips are not very pigmented, it looks like MLBB, but on pigmented lips, it might look like a mauvy pink, nevertheless a perfect neutral shade for any skin tone.
Color Payoff: Gives a opaque color in just one swipe, but if you have pigmented lips, you might need two to three swipes.
Texture: MAC cremesheen lipsticks are very famous for their smooth, buttery and comfortable texture on the lips; they don’t dry out the lips and adds a perfect glossy sheen to the lips. This lipstick has all those great qualities too.
Staying Power: As this is a cremesheen lipstick, it is too buttery on the lips and doesn’t last too long even with a lip pencil underneath. It also transfers a lot to cups and bottles. As this is a neutral shade, it doesn’t even leave a stain and after a couple of hours, there is no color on the lips!!!
Pros of MAC Cremesheen Creme in Your Coffee Lipstick:
- Perfect neutral MLBB shade for medium skin tones.
- Great packaging.
- Very comfortable on the lips.
- Gives a perfect sheen on the lips and there is no need to top it off with a lip gloss.
- Doesn’t dry out the lips.
- Doesn’t settle into the dry patches on the lips.
- Very versatile color and looks great on Indian skin tones.
- Gives opaque color in just one swipe.
Cons of MAC Cremesheen Creme in Your Coffee Lipstick:
- Very poor staying power, doesn’t last for more than 2 hours.
- Transfers like crazy. After a meal or drink, there is no more color on the lips.
- Doesn’t leave any stain and the color gets completely removed after a meal or drink.
I really love the shade and the fact that how comfortably it slides on the lips. It is my go-to color for work or when I’m not able to decide on what color to use. I would recommend this if you are searching for a perfect MLBB, but make sure to reapply it after every meal or drink.
3.5/5 for longevity, but 5/5 for color and smooth texture.
