MAC Nail Trend Fall/Winter 2010 and MAC Venomous Villains Collection for Disney – Photos and comments

On Friday the 1st of October MAC launched the MAC Nail Trend Fall/Winter 2010 and MAC Venomous Villains Collection for Disney limited editions. I have to say that the Disney Collection boxing is nothing for me, I am no fan of girly style at all but, at least, I do not care about Disney or no Disney on box if the product is good.

But let´s start with the Nail Trend Fall/Winter 2010 collection, in my opinion one of the best polish collections MAC launched the last few years because it features minimum one colour for almost everyone among us. So you do not have to be a polish addict to like this collection.

The laquers contain a whiff of glitter, but only for the deeper colorwriting effect, except of Earthly Harmony it does not appear as glitter at all, only captures the light within the color by softly shimmer.

  • Earthly Harmony, a muted, warm taupe with bright copper shimmer
  • Imperial Flower, a clear, bright reddish orange with gold and red shimmer
  • Ming Blue, a greyish cobalt blue with teal and red shimmer
  • Concubine, a deep cherry red with red shimmer
  • Rain of Flowers, a blackened violet with violet shimmer
  • Jade Dragon, a blackened fir green with teal shimmer

(I know, my descriptions do not always compare to the color descriptions given on the MAC page(s), but I describe, what I see and, for sure emerald green“ sounds more attractive, but Jade Dragon is not an emerald green at all 😉 etc. Also the finish information for the polishes is „frost“ but I cannot find any frost/ed finish – see wheel swatch – and I do not mind, the laquers are lovely as they are)

Beauty Powders

Since I like the MAC beauty powders (due to their texture and versatility) I use them very often as blush, for sculpting and/or soft highlighting; you do not have to buy several blushes for your casual look if you have a few beauty powders. They contain less pigment the blushes and that is their natural advantage, you get a very natural and flawless finish.

Heartless, Amplified, described as a cherry red but in my opinion it´s not blueish enough to be one – well, not in the container; it depends on several things like your own lip color etc. what kind of red it is at least …. there are several red lipsticks appearing pink/ish on some beauties…

and Dark Deed, a dark Burgundy plum (Amplified)

  1. That’s one heck of a collection- the venomous villains.

I have never liked mac minerlize eyeshadows but these look gorgeous. I am quite curious about the liquid powder though. Is it a loose powder?

Earthly harmony is getting a place in my collection, for sure. 🙂

I am just drooling and drooling over the pics. Can’t wait for these collections to launch in India. 🙂

    1. Yes, I am not a MAC mineralize e/s addict (because the mineralized effect is easy to substitute), too, but these two are really nice.

The liquid powder is a loose powder and even there is another, darker shade in the collection, I highly recommand the Truth & Light for indian beauties; the powder ist transparent and gives very fine, cool reflections (not glow) to the skin – good for winter color type to look fresh and nice.

The VW-Collection is much bigger but there was no need to buy everything from it, since I have enough similar products at home.

      1. I wonder why they have named it liquid powder. It looks very nice and attractive though. 🙂 I think it would take 2-3 months for this collection to release here in India. Let’s see. 🙂

    1. They look a little bit similar in the container, yes 🙂
According to the BP texture Briar Rose is less pigmented.
The Blush Ombres were something between regular blush texture and beautypowder texture, very attractive due to easy application and very soft finish.

      1. oh! yeah I forgot that these would be less pigmented. I just have grape vintage from blush ombre but I have to sat that’s one of the best texture MAC has come up with . 🙂

        1. I definitely agree about that. The duo conception already shows that the product is meant for sculpting/highlighting and refining. If you like the texture check out the scultping powders (pro).

  2. I WANT the Mineralise Eyeshadows !!!! Especially She who Dares ! And the Lipsticks. I Adore Disney so this is like a double whammy for me – Two of my favourite things in one 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

    1. Actually there started a dupe-search on the lime green color in She Who Dares all over the beautyboards here. Status: None found – till yet 😀

  3. I’m just a little confused. aren’t beauty powders & blushes the same ?:-) because even blushes can be used for soft highlighting & sculpting.

anywayz lovely collection. Love the mineralise e/s’s & the nail paints with multi changing reflects :-))

  4. I was actually watching a video on YT on this collection, just a few mins ago… 🙂 I kind of like the Cruella Devil’s box…and mind you I LUUUUVVVV DOG…

    1. I will do some swatches soon. 😀
The light was not good this weekend and flush pics are not the trick when it comes to soft shimmery textures – I mean my camflash really is nothing special. The cam takes the best pictures at good daylight.

    1. I am not that much into warm taupes, definitely I prefer cool taupes and greyish colors of this spectrum but, Earthly Harmony is really nice and wearable to so many different looks, so I had to take it for the kit. Jade Dragon will get some more swatch pictures when I swatch the other products, the light was really bad the day I took the photos. Actually I wear Concubine, highly recommended to every dark-eyed, dark-haired person – such a lovely, deep cherry with hints of lightcatching red shimmer. :chic:

  5. I love Earthy Harmony too……….so mant maonths before I can pick it up here….is there any resembling shade in any other brand available in India?

    1. Ummmmm…. The Collection containes more products th. shown, it´s really huge.
Big plus of previews is that you can take a look on the products months before release – supports your finance management.
