MAC Diva Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches

Ah the good old obsession with lipsticks! How can I help it. A woman can never have to many lip products. Can she? I mean if I dig in my bag right now I will come out with atleast 3 lip balms and 2 lipsticks. lol
But today I would be reviewing a lipstick, which does not belong to me but my mum.

MAC Diva Lipstick
It is called MAC Diva Lipstick and it is one of the few very lipsticks from Mac , which I can say can be staple to Indian skin tone.

Here is a little description of MAC Diva Lipstick

It is a intense reddish-burgundy with a matte finish in standard mac packaging case of 3g
Mac offers lipsticks in a number of finishes i.e amplified, amplified creme, cremesheen, dazzle, frost, glaze, lustre, matte and satin.

MAC Diva Lipstick
To me the satin is a personal favorite because it moisturizes the most without the added gloss and a satin finish.

The other reds to try bestsellers from mac are russian red,mac red and ruby woo.

But to my mum this is her red best. 🙂

Since the time we are born red or maroon or burgundy are the shades we often , I’dsay the most often see on woman in India. Our mothers make it their most worn lipstick regardless. With my mum atleast, this is the case. She has been and will wear deep reds or maroon lipsticks.

MAC Diva Lipstick

Mac diva is one such colour I have found which will be great on all skin tones.
I am an nc42(atleast in summers, I was) and you will see in the below given pictures how MAC Diva lipstick looks on my lips.

MAC Diva Lipstick on lips
Below are the pictures and pros and cons 🙂

MAC Diva Lipstick swatch

Pros of MAC Diva Lipstick

  • Beautiful burgundy! I would not actually call it a red but more to the maroonish burgundy family
  • You can see the difference in one of the pictures in which I am wearing a red colour on my nails and the diva swatch
  • For matte lovers this is very matte. No shine at all
  • It is an understated sort of burgandy . This lipstick is something that i would wear with a little black dress to a party.
  • Although it’s a matte lipstick but it is not very drying. But I do put on a balm under it when I wear it(very very rare)
  • Got the standard faint mac vanilla smell
  • 3g is a good quantity
  • I personally like the mac packaging. Classy.

CONS of MAC Diva Lipstick

  • Umm..The price.  Had it not been for my mum, I would have never brought this expensive lipstick.I think this is the one and only mac lipstick(me and my mum)we jointly own.
  • Matte can be very drying sometimes.
  • The stay power is around 4 hours, without eating.
  • It retails for about 15 USD and about Rs 900  or so in India which is a tad bit too much for a lipstick but again it is MAC

I am going to end this review with these lines which I love and follow :

  1. I have this shade but I have not yet used it, as it looks too dark for me. Jomol, it’s definitely not raspberry looking, it’s maroon-burgundy.

  2. thanku everyoneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo:

it is a red to be worn with a lbd sometimes!i sure hpe i get the guts to wear it out sometime
    :plane:

  3. yes rati not as dark as in tube also the flash effect and also it could be coz my lips are already pigmented and different lipsticks tend to come out differently based on you lip colour.so it might as well look different on your lips :victory: :victory:
    :plane:

        1. Thank you Natasha! :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: I’ve written all the shades down. You’ve just given me 21 shades to explore!! You are the master of pink lippies.
And ‘coral pink’ that I bought is Moisture extreme only, not color sensational.
I just purchased my first Colorbar lippie ‘Flamingo’ from the soft touch range. Its a purplish pink with a metallic sort of finish. I didn’t like the texture so much. Wish I had seen your reccos earlier 🙁 I have exams from tomorrow for a week so no shopping till then :weep: :weep:

          1. i just checked. i have color sensational CB 41: coral pink. moisture extreme vanishes from my lips after 2 mins. so i was wondering after seeing your message as to how i could end up buying moisture range  u shud check out the coral pink in the color sensational range . as for flamingo, i ahve seen that shade but i dont like metaalic finish much. :(( the only colorbar lippie that i am gonna go for soon is “tempt me” from their full finish range. i am otherwise done with colorbar for the next 5 years at least

            1. I just swatched it ws quite soft and since it was on 15% off I bought it. It stayed on my lips for abt 3-4 hours and left a tint when it vanished after 2 meals. I went back n purchased another shade. I am soo surprized cos I was totally off maybelline after buying CS in ‘extatic coral’. Its too way light for me and I hate the finish! I don’t know I bought it! I hadn’t tried revlon and chambor till then.

              1. ankita, extatic coral has a frosty/metallic finish wheras coral pink in CS has the same finish as moisture extreme ones but it stays longer. even within the same range maybelline has lot of varaitions. “hooked on pink” for isntance goes on a bit matte else i wouldnt have got it  when the Sa swatches it on your b hands u wiil feel the difference. also on the lips it goes opaque. this is not the case with other CS lipsticsks, besides i ahte their smell  so yeah there could be differnt finshes evn within the same range-just check

                1. Extatic coral was my first lipstick ever and I just wanted a light shade so I bought it. I didn’t bother with Maybelline after that. But will check out ‘hooked on pink’. And also the 20 other shades you’ve recommended. I’M supposed to be studying n all I can think of it pink lipsticks :struggle:
