MAC Lustreglass Star Nova Review

Product under my review today is MAC Lustreglass in Star Nova.

This is how the shade and swatch looks on website.

In one of the regular newsletters from MAC, a senior make-up artist has mentioned how MAC “Love Nectar” will awaken the look of models of any Complexion. I so wanted to buy that shade for that reason and went to the MAC store.

When I asked the SA for Love Nectar, she did not know the shade and was searching in the rack and finally gave me one. It was a light peachy Lipglass. When I tried it on my lips, I didn’t feel it awakened my look (May be I had too much expectation). I immediately gave up the idea of buying it and started looking for other shades. Finally I settled for “Start Nova”

My Experience:

Actually, in the MAC swatch you can notice minute particles in it. Even the particles showed on my hand swatch. But it did not show up Obvious on the lips. On my lips it gave a shiny, glossy (glassy :P) and a little bit of shimmery effect. I have pigmented lips. The lip gloss Covered the pigmented pretty well and came out like a light pinkish mauve.
I can’t wear it to office due to the shimmery effect it has, as I don’t want my lips to be glassy and flashy in the office 😛 😛
But it makes a perfect shade for day time outing or night party.

Pros of MAC Lustreglass Star Nova:

1. It covers my pigmented lips pretty well.
2. When worn alone, it stayed on my lips for about 2-3 hrs with small Snack in between, which is pretty good for a gloss.
3. It does not feel very sticky on lips.
4. It even outs the lip lines. And gives a kind of plumping effect for Lips.
5. It is a pretty colour.

Cons of MAC Lustreglass Star Nova:

1. As the colour fades, the shimmery effect becomes more obvious. This is not very odd.
2. Price is little high for a lip gloss.
3. I prefer other applicator over the brush one.

Overall Verdict: I’m a lip gloss person, and I’m quite enjoying the Shade. If your are game for shiny lip glosses, and if you don’t mind paying more, then do try MAC lipglass :))
