Hope everyone is doing great! I am here to share about my first face makeup purchase from MAC; oh yes, my SIL and IMBB have finally made me buy this. My SIL always uses MAC foundations and she has always advised me to start using these as MAC offers great quality. Now I can understand what she was trying to convey all these years. 😛 MAC makeup makes you look like a diva, not only in person but on screen as well. Impressive, huh! Needless to say, I am so convinced that I will get it again and again. So let’s read more about MAC Mineralize Foundation/Loose!
A silky, mineral-rich powder foundation that brushes on to deliver medium buildable coverage and a radiant look. Gives skin a smooth, natural dimensional finish with exceptional luminosity and a velvet-soft, comfortable feel.
My Experience with MAC Mineralize Foundation/Loose:
The loose powder comes in a usual sturdy and transparent tub packaging with a twist over cap. I would have appreciated an additional lid or lock mechanism, like what Smashbox Halo Loose Powder Foundation has, to control excessive flow/accidental leakage. I see lots of powder every time even if I keep it safely in my bag. I always have to worry about its position in my bag as well as in vanity.
Coming over to the shade, I see that MAC offers many shades in this range. Considering my light skin tone, I picked up the shade “Light Plus” which has a radiant beige sheen and it seems to be a close match for my skin tone. I like its finely milled texture which never settles on my dry patches and/or into the fine lines whether I blend it with my sponge or with a brush.
I usually prefer using my Tarte foundation brush for this powder as this combo gives me airbrushed finish with a radiant, gleaming natural shine. While at times I like to dab it with a sponge when using on bare skin for an even tone and radiant finish, which it gives with perfection. I am impressed to see that this color has never made me look chalky or white in pictures or even in real life. In fact it reflects a radiant sheen while blurring my minor flaws and giving a picture-perfect face. Wow! I have totally been loving Urban Decay Loose Perfecting Powder for the past 2-3 years, but now I am convinced that I’ll replace it with this MAC one.
I love how it blends nicely on my uneven skin texture without emphasizing my open pores or minor dry patches and/or first signs of ageing. It is an extremely versatile and light-weight loose powder which will work efficiently as a setting powder without interfering with the foundation. While, on its own, it will provide a buildable coverage on bare skin. I think I like it better when I use it on my bare skin. This way, it sweeps off all the dullness and shine off my skin with minimal strokes.
I do feel that it has a decent oil control feature, nothing great though. I can see a shiny T-zone within 5-6 hours of wearing this powder. But considering the hot climate around, it’s pretty good even if I get such a long time relief from sweat and shine. And its mineral rich content makes it perfect for acne prone skin.
I am sure this buddy will get my love and attention for next couple of years. I will definitely recommend it to everyone; even beauties with dry skin would like it during hot/humid days. It is a must-try product for every oily, combination, normal skin type.
