Hello there readers!
My review for today is a frost finish lipstick from our beloved MAC Cosmetics and it has been named “Model Behaviour.”
A lipstick with hundreds of hues. The iconic product that made M·A·C famous.
My Experience with MAC Model Behaviour Lipstick:
The packaging is your standard black bullet with a rounded top with the shade name and finish on the bottom.
MAC describes “Model Behaviour” as a clean violet with blue pearl in frost finish. It is an apt description as the shade is a lovely hue of purple with metallic blue particles that I believe would suit every skin tone. I love the galaxy feel from this lipstick. In the bullet too, you can clearly see the blue sparkle in the violet lipstick, but it looks a lot darker in the bullet than it does when swatched.
The finish is slightly sheer and since it’s a frosted lipstick, it’s not too pigmented. When I swatched it on the hand, it was quite sheer but not glossy and I thought the colour would look like a sheer lip gloss once applied, but on the lips, it was quite opaque. Since the colour is on the darker side, it covers pigmentation on lips inspite of being on the sheer side.
The staying power is not that great, four hours at best and if you have a meal, it fades by 50% at least, so reapplying it becomes necessary. Using a purple lip liner underneath might help the staying power, but frankly, it’s such a pretty color that I don’t mind reapplying through the day.
One thing you should keep in mind is that this lipstick tends to get soft if carried around in the heat for too long. I came home to find a melting lipstick, so I stashed it in the fridge for some time. I wouldn’t probably be taking this out in the Mumbai heat again.
Pros of MAC Model Behaviour Lipstick:
- Unique colour.
- Good pigmentation.
- Flattering shade for all skin tones.
Cons of MAC Model Behaviour Lipstick:
- Doesn’t stay on for more than four hours.
I love this shade and the finish, but honestly, this is just something I picked up on a whim because it was pretty. I don’t end up reaching for it very often but if you are someone who loves eccentric shades a lot then this is a good pick.
