MAC Oh Baby Lipglass Review

Hi friends!

Hope all of you are doing fine! Today I am here to bring you another lip product which is my first purchase from MAC. I know, what you are thinking now! Actually, I was so lost in an ocean of beauty world that I never realized I am missing this amazing brand in my vanity kit. Anyway, der aaye durust aaye and here I am sharing my MAC Lipglass with you all. However, I am yet to decide if I would try it again, but I am definitely impressed with the quality, quantity and price of MAC, like all of you. So, let’s talk about MAC Lipglass in Oh Baby today!

Mac Oh Baby Lipglass Review7

Product Description:
A unique lip gloss available in a wide variety of colors that can create a high-gloss, glass-like finish or a subtle sheen. Designed to be worn on its own, over lip pencil or lipstick, it’s the perfect product for creating shine that lasts. It’s pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic color. It contains jojoba oil to help soften and condition the lips.

Price:
$15 for 0.17 Fl Oz (4.8 g) and $10 for 0.08 Fl Oz (2.4 g), prices may vary store to store

My Experience with MAC Oh Baby Lipglass:

Well, I picked the smaller pack of $10 from another store, though I would have picked almost double amount for only $15, bummer! The packaging seems as usual sturdy, plastic tube pack with doe foot applicator, nothing to fancy about. It does have a faint vanilla smell which is not overpowering. I didn’t like its doe foot applicator and find that my lip brush works better with this gloss. Overall, it seems quite user friendly & travel friendly packaging.

The shade “Oh Baby” is a golden bronze shade with shimmers as per the website and in my personal opinion as well. It looks quite pigmented in the tube and in hand swatches while it comes almost clear shimmery gloss on my lips with two swipes. It also means that it is a major skip for beauties with pigmented lips. And, I won’t suggest attempting multiple swipes with the gloss considering its thick, sticky texture which may be tricky upon two or more swipes.

Yes, the gloss seems slightly thick & sticky in texture which adheres nicely on our lips and I can imagine how it will nourish and condition our lips with its rich texture. The sticky, thick texture is for good and not irritating, let me clarify. Moreover, it does not settle in lip lines or dry parched areas of our lips and it won’t accentuate them further as well. I am also impressed to see how the shimmers on this bronze shade are way subtle and not OTT.

Since the gloss comes almost clear on lips, I see its multiple utility as using alone or over any matte/semi-matte stain lip colors for that extra oomph. Coming over its lasting power, so like any normal gloss it tends to fade quickly within 3-4 hours that too when I skip tea sips and my meals. It does not leave behind any stain or shimmers, thankfully.

I feel well hydrated and soft lips even after removing it off to my surprise. Overall I won’t say I am super impressed with the gloss, I am not disappointed with the gloss either! It is just that I am not much into shimmery glosses. Hence, I may skip it plus its average lasting power is my big concern after the price. But, if you love shimmery glosses then you should totally check it out!

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of MAC Oh Baby Lipglass:

• A nourishing, lightweight shimmery golden bronze gloss
• It does nourish and hydrate your lips for good hours
• The shimmers on gloss come up way subtle on lips and not OTT
• It can be used alone or worn on top of any lip color
• It does not accentuate dry lips issue nor does it ever highlight dry, parched lips
• Lips feel well hydrated even after removing it
• Quite user friendly and travel friendly packaging

Cons of MAC Oh Baby Lipglass:

• The shade and finish is tricky for beauty with pigmented lips
• Staying power could have been better
• We do get variety of lip glosses at much lower price now a days
• I am not impressed with its doe foot applicator

Well, other than these points I don’t think I have any issues with the gloss and as I already said it is just that I don’t like clear, shimmery glosses much. Hence, it would be a skip for me! I might pick up other pigmented shades from MAC, though.

    1. Goodness I knew nothing about makeup 11 years ago, i was probably wondering in forests, preparing assignments and playing with my cousins .. 🙂

  3. wow this looks good on your lips neetu..detailed review as always..I buy very less lipglosses as I love lipsticks..I have MAC hellbound lipglass which was part of a limited edition collection..I used hardly 4 times.

    1. True mini i can imagine coz I too prefer colors over glosses, for that purpose I invested in few lip brushes to get that glossy color pay off with deeper stains and lip colors now 🙂
