MAC Paint Pot in Blackground Review
Hi Everyone,

I am back with another eyeshadow/base review and an EOTD. Thank you so much for your fabulous comments on my last EOTD and it has given me the confidence to try another one. Hope you like this one too! So, let’s get into the review.
I am going to review a MAC Paintpot that goes by the name – “Blackground.”

Price:
I bought this quite a long time ago and I think it was about 1000 or 1100 INR at that time. I haven’t bought a paintpot in quite some time, so not sure if it has gone up now.
Shade:
As the name suggests, it’s a gorgeous black/charcoal grey color with very fine silver shimmer in it. The shimmer is not much noticeable once on the eyes, but just gives a subtle sheen that looks gorgeous.
This is an insanely pigmented color and one swipe is more than enough. It can be used on its own as an eyeshadow or as a base for dark eyeshadows. It looks lovely when used as a base, especially for purples and wines and of course blacks.
Texture:
Like all other paintpots, this is cream based and applies evenly. It blends very nicely and easily. In fact, I find this blends more easily than the famous Painterly Paintpot. A word of caution though – you have to blend it really fast after applying as it dries very quickly and once dry, it does not budge an inch, no matter how much you pull and tug your lids with your brush to blend. So, I apply it on one eye, blend and then apply it on the other eye.
Staying Power:
Insane!!!!!!! Like I said, it does not budge once dry, does not crease, and if used as a base, holds on to your eyeshadow like they are married or something!
Here is a swatch:
Now, I present to you my next EOTD, nervous again!
Here, I have used this Paintpot with MAC’s Sorcery all over my lids to create a simple smoky eye and I wear this look quite a lot, especially in winters and when I go clubbing.
IMBB Rating:
5/5
Overall Verdict:
Must have in your kitty if you are fond of wearing dark eyes. Works great as a liner as well, although I have not used it on the waterline.
