Hello Ladies,

Before IMBB, I had a love-hate relationship with eyeliners/eye pencils. I used to love them on my eyes but I was not able to perfectly line my eyes on my own. After following some tutorials on IMBB and with constant practice, I have improved and now, I love to line my eyes regularly. For some strange reason, I don’t like to use plain black liner on my eyes if no other eye makeup is on.  So, I always look for brown/brownish black/greyish black shades. I love to wear shimmery liners at times as unlike matte liners, these can jazz up the whole eye makeup without even using any eyeshadow.  Since MAC pearlglide range comes with lots of beautiful shimmery shades, I selected Black Swan from the range.

My Experience with MAC Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner in Black Swan:

Black Swan is a rich black shade with fine silver + blue shimmer in it. These cool-toned shimmers give this black liner a greyish hue. This shade looks beautiful against black/dark brown eyes which most of us Indians have and I feel this will look good with other eye colors too. The shimmer adds a fun effect to the otherwise boring plain black liner. It looks good for day as well as night looks, and apt for parties. By smudging this liner, one can create a nice black + gray smoky eye with glitters as I have done in the swatch pictures.

This liner is very creamy and glides effortlessly; it does not tug the sensitive eyelid skin.  After application, wait for one minute or a few seconds and see this creamy liner turn to a smudge-proof and waterproof liner.  In case you want to create a smudged look, you should better be quick.  This liner stays on my oily eyelids for the entire day or until I don’t remove it myself. Very minor creasing happens after 8-9 hours, but nothing else.  To remove it off, you will have to use an oil-based cleanser. An oil-free cleanser does not take it down completely. The shimmers are not chunky but fine; however, they tend to spread all over your face if not used properly. Due to the presence of shimmer, this is not apt for using on waterline, it might irritate your eyes badly.

The only downside is the wastage of product while sharpening, but if you use a good sharpener, then that will help to some extent. In totality, this is a great alternative for the boring plain black liners.  I recommend this to all the girls who like to use pencil liners and are looking for long-lasting, smudge proof, waterproof, black liner with glitters.  This will surely get you lots of compliments at parties and night outs, so go for it!
