MAC Persistence Matte Lipstick Review

My love for MAC is not news anymore and I keep on looking for new shades in the matte and satin range of lipsticks, as they are my personal favorites. I recently got 3 shades from the matte range and here I am with the review of the first one from the range, Persistence.

My Experience with MAC Persistence Matte Lipstick:

This comes in regular MAC packaging, nothing fancy, just functional and classy matte black. Details of the product are mentioned on the outer carton. Only con with MAC packaging is that you have to remember every color and corresponding name; color coded sticker at the base is always welcome.

I like the matte and satin textures because they stay long without making the lips uncomfortable or chapped. Also the pigmentation is great in these two finishes and hence applying lip liner is totally optional. Persistence being from the matte range is nice and smooth on the lips and does not tug or pull them. On the contrary, it does not dry out the lips; people with dry lips would need a lip balm after a couple of hours though.

Persistence is described as Peachy Cinnamon and that is pretty true; only I feel that it is slightly lighter than the actual cinnamon color. Well, here is your spoiler, if you already own MAC Taupe, no need to buy this. If you are planning to buy Taupe, skip the idea and buy this instead. Somehow this one look more pigmented compared to Taupe. I am big fan of neutrals and hence this is my new found love. The color looks perfect on my skin tone as a peach toned nude but once you go darker or lighter, it will show up differently.

The staying power ranges from 4-5 hours depending on the food/fluid intake. After that it starts fading from the centre of the lips. Without any lip lining and primer I feel that is a decent staying power. I do not mind reapplying as this feels nice on the lips. It does not leave any stain and gets removed easily with a makeup remover.

Pros of MAC Persistence Matte Lipstick:

• Super pigmented.
• Nice texture.
• Lovely fragrance.
• Suits my warm skin tone.
• Stays on long.

Cons of MAC Persistence Matte Lipstick:

• Expensive.
• Taupe is a close dupe.
• Not for all skin tones.

Repurchase – Yes.
Recommend – If you have the shade Taupe you can skip it; but if you are a MAC lover like me, go ahead and buy this.
