MAC Pigment Gold Review

Product Purchased by IMBB

Hi ladies,

Gold or golden is the kind of shade which cannot be kept away from makeup, especially Indian makeup. While buying pigments during my last ‘investment’, I had to pick a perfect gold shade. I bought three MAC Pigments – MAC Pigment Gold, MAC Pigment Silver and MAC Pigment Fushia. Pigments add that ‘missing’ sparkle to our makeup which, otherwise, is very tough to achieve from eyeshadows alone. Let’s get into the review of MAC Pigment Gold.

MAC Pigment Gold Review

Price: Rs.2200 (4.5 gms)
Product Description:
A highly concentrated loose colour powder that contains ingredients to help it adhere to the skin. Create a subtle wash of colour or an intense effect. Does not streak or cake. Easy to blend and long-lasting. Please note: Pigments are sold by weight, not volume. Containers can appear to be less than full due to settling of the product.

My Experience with MAC Pigment Gold:

The pigment comes in a small plastic jar. You may get disappointed with the size but trust me, it will last your lifetime. The screw cap is of rubbery material which is prone to catching dust pretty fast. I will not suggest travelling with pigment bottle as it may break easily and then it will be an unimaginable mess!

The colour is a super creamy golden. It swatched like a dream on my arm, however, it is tricky to work on eyes. It had immense fallout (as you can see my eyelashes in my eye swatch, I have not applied mascara just to show the intensity of fallout), so I would suggest using a concealer underneath or any kind of glue.

It stays long for 8-9 hours. Once applied with a brush it is good to apply little pressure using fingertips so that that the pigment sticks better and also gives more intensity by concentrating the pigment. I feel that brush fell short when it comes to concentrating the pigment, so I suggest using fingertips for this one. Do cover your cheeks or apply rest of the makeup in the last, reasons are obvious. In the end, when I brushed out the fallout on my cheeks, I could still see golden there, so I had to wipe it out properly using wet wipes.

One more thing I felt is that applying it or layering it over a closer shade base will give a better intensity like MAC Indianwood eyeshadow base, maybe. (I haven’t tried that though).
