MAC Pigment Melon Review

By Garima Jham

Hola ladies!

Hope you all are doing great! I am back with a product from MAC, which I have been using for the past eight months. We all know the importance of a golden eyeshadow with our ethnic and bridal wear. I have three gold eye pigments, but when it comes to quality, nothing can beat MAC. So, I’m reviewing this versatile pigment called Melon today. Read on to find out more about the product.

My Experience with MAC Pigment Melon:

The pigment comes packaged in a lightweight plastic jar that reflects the colour of the pigment. The little jar has so much of the pigment that it seems as full as new even though I have been using the product for months now.

MAC Pigment Melon Packaging

In quest of a golden pigment with a subtle finish, I found this amazing golden-peach pigment; it has no glitter particles but gives a soft sheen that complements all my ethnic outfits. It’s a strong golden colour with a slight touch of peach. The texture is very lightweight and never feels heavy on the lids. It falls out a bit during application, so I find it better to do my eye makeup first.

Pigment and brush

This pigment is suitable for parties or weddings and not for everyday makeup looks. The glittery and metallic nature of the pigment will definitely make your eyes stand out. It blends in easily and you do not need to use a lot. So, this quantity is going to last for years. It’s a very versatile product; I sometimes use it as an eyeliner.

MAC Pigment Melon Swatch

Being a powder product, it tends to fall during application, but I don’t notice any unevenness or creasing. This peachy gold colour works great as a highlighter, too. Just mix it with Inglot Duraline and swatch it on the high points of the face for a gorgeous golden glow. I never use pigments with water, because I feel the pigments lose their intensity and texture quality when mixed with water.

MAC Pigment Melon EOTD

Personally, I think this can work for a majority of Indian skin tones and will suit most of the Indian attires. The staying power is very impressive as it lasts until removed. Overall, there is no major glitch with this product.
