MAC Pro Longwear Lip Creme – So Very Good Review

I am back with another review and that too from one of my loved brands – MAC. I have no idea how I have not reviewed this lipstick before and it is in my stash since so long that I cannot trace the outer carton also. It’s a product from one of my favorite brands and one of my favorite makeup products – lipsticks. Well, read on to know how this baby fared.
Price:
Rs. 1500/- (approximately, I do not remember really).
My Experience with MAC Prolong Wear Lip Crème – So Very Good:
Packaging:
The packaging is simple, smart and functional. For me that is enough. Yes, it might not be as gorgeous as YSL or Guerlain lipstick, but it works for me. The body is unlike typical MAC lipsticks. It is a slim and slender packaging with a matte body and sticker at the base with shade name. If you have more than one of these in your collection, you might have to remember the name or open up each as there is no color coding. The cap shuts with a click and hence there is no chance of it opening up in the makeup pouch.
Texture:
Considering it is a long-wear lipstick, it is not as creamy as the amplified or creemsheen brothers, but yes, it glides on smoothly. It is not so hard that it will hurt your lips while applying. No worries on the drying part if you have normal lips. For those with very dry lips, it would be advisable to apply a lip balm before application.
Pigmentation:
The lipstick is highly pigmented and only one swipe deposits enough color to cover lips well. The opacity can be increased by swiping the lipstick multiple times. There is absolutely no cakey feeling when you swipe the lipstick more to build up the pigmentation.
Staying Power:
The lipstick is a winner in this department. It stays on for more than 7 hours on me with snacks and tea. If I have to make a lip shade stay for long, I sometimes apply this as base, so there is absolutely no movement of the lipstick. I am very impressed with the staying power and it is indeed a prolong wear.
Shade:
You have lots of shades to choose from in this range. I have been always a neutral lover and this comes as a neutral with a bit of twist. It is a pinky brown shade which can be worn as “my lips but better” shade. I generally pair it with colored eyeliners to keep the lips understated.

😛 am sure it looks “so very good” on you too….i think you use a lip liner with it which might alter the shade sometimes. considering it is a long wear lipstick i avoid the lip liner, do try and let know 🙂
